I Just saw USN released photos of the USS San Francisco

As some may know the USS San Francisco a 688 L A class submarine operating of of Guam several weeks ago was transiting the Pacific at approximately 500 feet at a high rate of speed.

She hit a underground mountain, that is one of the worst types of casualty's that a sub can encounter.

Her sonar domes and forward MBT were destroyed, fast work by the crew brought the sub to the surface and she was able to get back to Apra harbor in Guam.

One crew man was killed and several dozen injured. Clearly a masterful job of keeping the ship was done and a BRAVO ZulU is required for the crew.

I do not know how to post the pictures of the damaged sub in dry dock that I saw of the USN web site but it is frightening to see.

That the sub survived is a miracle.

Again good work by the crew.
