Gonzales to replace Castro?
Castro is geting older. He has no successor that we know of. Perhaps Gonzales is being put into place in Homeland Security so as to be able to take immediate control of Cuba should "anything happen to Castro." The U.S. already has Guantanamo, so it should be no problem for him to take the island back from the rebels who have controlled it for so many years.

Corporations would love this, of course.

Anyone who thinks the US will just walk into Cuba to take over is seriously delusional.

Castro Castro Castro Castro Castro Castro Castro Castro Castro Castro LOL

It is the Cuban people in Cuba who control the island nation now.

3. My bad!
I was attempting to be facetious but after re-reading it, I see that I failed miserably....

I have lived long enough to remember when Castro's supporters were called "rebels." :) This was at the time that many corporations either had business interests in Cuba or were trying to get same. Legvalized gambling and prostitution flourished under Batista's government.

I was thinking that to the mind of corporate America, who have always wanted control of Cuba, that when Castro is no longer there, those corporate interests will feel that they "reclaim" the island from what they still consider "rebels."

Then, with Gonzales put firmly in power, as Bush has done in Iraq, American personnel can freely torture whomever they choose.

4. Who's Gonzales?
Do you mean the Gonzales who is the nominee for attorney general? He is of Mexican-American heritage, so if you mean him, I doubt it.

There is no shortage of Cuban exiles that Bush might set up to be the Cuban Karzi.
