The other day, some freeper asshole emailed me about some "anti-american" blah blah blah comments I'd made on DU that are now featured on some right-wing blogs. When he threatened to call the authorities, I laughed at him.

Who knows, maybe I'm now on a watch-list?

12. FYI -- The airlines have absolutely no control over TSA policies

or procedures. What the screeners do and how they do it is determined by the TSA.

14. As a fellow Eugenian this is a cause for concern...

I was quite suprised to find out that this is happening in my own little town of Eugene, Oregon! Mahlon Sweet Field, Eugene's airport, is a terribly small setup as airports go. Having flown from that airport literally dozens of times, I can say that if the security is checking her so thoroughly her name is on a list of SOME sort. I don't want to put the security staff at the airport down, per se, but they are not the most savvy group of people- even as far as airline security goes. Post 9/11, I've seen them pull people aside for more careful screening but it was always someone who would "look" like they might be suspicious- negroes, hispanics, Native Americans(please, please I'm being sarcastic to highlight what I feel is their mindset).

Based on my experience with the screeners, if they're groping some granny in the name of national security- it's because some red flag is being raised on their computer screen.
