Confession Time: I'm a "Bad" American!
Well, at least according to some people, I am! Why? Let me give you a list:

1. I've been paying off my debt and have very little left. I also haven't taken on any new debt in over two years. BAD, BAD AMERICAN!

2. I don't partake of TV news at all. Not in any form. On any station or network.

3. I don't even have satellite or cable. Aw, hell, let me totally fess up, but shhhhh! I rarely watch TV at all! Keep that between us, I don't want to be reported or anything.

4. I don't worship the flag. I don't have flag stickers on everything that will stay still. I don't have a flag sweater for my dog to wear. I don't own red, white and blue tennis shoes. I know it's just a symbol. The actual flag doesn't protect me. Wrapping myself in it tighter and tighter will only suffocate and blind me. WHAT A BAD AMERICAN!

5. I have religious beliefs, but I don't go to church, which means I will go to hell for being a BAD AMERICAN. Also, I don't tell people what religion I am, nor do I ask them about theirs. I don't flaunt my religion on my bumper or on my clothing or jewelry. Horrible, isn't it?

6. If other countries don't want to go along with what we want to do, that's their right and I don't get all pissed off at them and hate the whole country because they don't agree with our foreign policy. Who said they had to?

7. My home is powered with wind energy, I recycle and drive as little as possible. That's probably one of the worst ones of all!!!

8. I don't think supporting the troops means rah-rahing any old foreign policy that comes along. I think it means questioning how the government wants to use the troops and making sure they are only used in proper manners. The troops must do as they are told, but civilians can act as their voice. Now THAT'S supporting the troops. Oh and instead of slapping some magnetic sticker on the back of my car, I send care packages with things they need, like toothpaste, toilet paper, body armor.

9. I think what consenting adults do in their bedroom is their business.

10. I think separation of church and state is a good thing and should be protected to the utmost. Feel free to believe whatever you want, worship whatever you want, but don't inject your church into the government.

11. I think it's a shame that in the richest country on the planet, kids go to schools with leaky roofs and study from textbooks held together with tape and staples, parents don't take their kids to the doctor because they can't afford it, and people still live in cardboard boxes.

But HEY! We got BOMBS!

How are YOU a "bad" American?
:eyes:

13. Hey by the way
ever been at a stop light and had a Hummer on BOTH sides of you? That happened to me this morning. There was an Escalade in front of me, a black Hummer to my left and a yellow Hummer to my right. My God. Couldn't see a damn thing and I'm in a fricking minivan.

My next car will be a Prius or something totally alternately fueled if they have it by then.

They have five different styles -- family, cargo, pickup, taxi and mini. I think the cargo one is cool.

12. I'm a bad American
...because I'm Canadian. And it really, really hurt my feelings when some Republicans said I wasn't patriotic because I wouldn't send my troops to Iraq to support an illegal, immoral war. NOT!

17. Well thank ya
but it's not as impressive as it might sound. I get my power from Green Mountain Energy, thank goodness available to Texans and I chose the 100% wind power option so all the power that comes into my home comes from "bigass" windmills out in West Texas and elsewhere. It's a bit more expensive, but I think it's worth it.

20. I do not own a car
I have visited Europe.
I think foreign languages are cool.
I love the metric system (except for Celcius (having 50 degrees become 10 and 70 degrees become 21.1 does not seem right).
My job is not the most important thing in my life.
I almost never eat out.
I dress for the weather and do not expect buildings to be saunas in the winter and refrigerators in the summer.
I hate the Dallas Cowboys (America's team, ya know).
On a side note, was I wrong to get a chuckle out of this "kids go to schools with leaky roofs"? My thought was, 'they really ought to leave their leaky roofs at home.'

It's wind-powered. And Wal-Mart? YUCK. No thanks. Buncha cheap crap in a dingy store with too few checkers so the lines are a mile long because management is too cheap to put enough of them on the payroll to be effective.

Blech.
