I see on another thread that they are referring to us as "DUmmies". In view of this, and in honor of their support of the "election" of 2004, I propose that we rename them and from now on out refer to them only as "FRaudies".

It's not really a contraction, but one I enjoy using is "fascist repudlickans", crude and quasi-politically incorrect though it may be.

"fucking morans" is fairly satisfying.

The contraction "publicans" gives it a biblical feel of the appropriate judgementalist wrong headedness.

If a group identifies themselves by some word or phrase, use it spelled exactly the way they do, or a reasonable acronym. If you want to dispute something they claim, do so, but don't sink to personal insults.

The whole point here is credibility, proving that we are right, not proving that we can be more juvenile than "they" can.

I agree that all this name calling is not helping anyone, unless you are rallying for civil war. Reading the messages on the free republic forums, on the whole they seem more civilized than many of the posters here in DU. I appreciate that many democrats (including myself) are very angry, whereas the republicans are still wallowing in their supposed victory, although maybe getting a little worried now. But when the bushit (sorry, couldn't resist that one) hits the fan, half of the stink will be our own, thrown back at us. Think of the readers who do not yet appreciate our point of view.

I'd suggest everyone at least try to be more civilized. I mean, we are talking about having the right to vote (and have our votes be counted, of course), which was a system partly designed to avoid going to war over every disagreement. Yes, we have been denied our rights, but until the civilized legal process (also designed to avoid war) is exhausted, let's continue to believe it will work and help to do our part. If it fails in the end, then by all means, be outraged to the point of taking other actions, even actions outside the law if the government fails to uphold the law.

Yes, we have free speech as a fundamental right, and we can use it to associate a group of people with undesirable things. I submit there are more effective ways to communicate.

than anything. And as for name-calling, they started calling us DUmmies, so I was just returning the compliment.

They support a FRaudulent economy, a FRaudulent government, FRaudulent moral values, FRaudulent media, a FRaudulent election system and a FRaudulent president.
