Are any Republicans disturbed by the American Mullahs plans for America?
Edited on Sun Nov-14-04 03:14 PM by PlanetBev
I can't believe that some of the more moderate/conservative Republicans aren't freaked out by these loons. Barry Goldwater couldn't stand them and stood up to them. As a fellow Arizonan, he was instrumental in getting Sandra Day O'Connor's confirmation through the Senate. Whe Jerry Falwell criticized O'Connor's view on abortion, Goldwater said right on TV, "All patriotic Americans should get together and kick Jerry Falwell right in the ass." A great moment in television history.

Will America stand up to these idiots, or will she deliver the country, bound hand and foot, to them?

I'm going to go one step farther. If Republicans don't speak out again these maniacs, we're cooked. I'm not looking for any leadership from the Democrats on this issue.

Hope to hell I'm wrong.

The Dominionist want to revert to biblical law.

They want to be the EXACT same entity as Al-Qaeda!

And they're doing a good job:

3. Congratulations, you've got the idea
We really need to lay low for now and let these people fully expose themselves. The last thing we should do right now is give them an enemy to fight against.

It's called Judo. When somebody pushes you, you give them a little tug in the same direction and watch them fall on their faces.

6. Please...no more 'laying low'...
...Although I agree that the 'Christian Taliban' is their own worse enemy...we can no longer afford to sit back and hope enough people 'get it'.

- While I don't believe that we should attack them head on...we have to remind people of what their words mean in a country where everyone is suppose to be 'equal'.

7. I think the interview you're referring to was on "60 Minutes"
It was the best.

5. the Repubs I know don't believe it
they laugh when I try to tell them that the fundies have taken over the national party.

here in upstate ny, and NE in general, fundies have minimal influence in party. And at the national level they've been in stealth mode because they know they are seen as loonies.

I think it'll take some pretty awful stuff to convince these secular republicans that it was their votes that created a theocratic government.

While we're on the topic, check out this site for details on how the religious right hijacked the republican party:

Lots of details, not the best organized site but worth the time and effort to plow your way through the fascinating info included there.

8. pols running scared
Politicians on both side are running scared: of the corporations that fund them, of the Christian Taliban and even more so of what happened to Paul Wellstone. I suspect there are many more intimidations, blackmails and outright murders that this blood-drenched administration is implicated in. We can tell the truth largely because we're beneath the radar, ie. can still be be dismissed as internet tin foilers, but the John McCains et al. have been temporarily cowed by severe threats, as have been many Democrats. But if we can expose voter fraud, while Bush continues to precipitate economic and military chaos, perhaps we can salvage something form the ruins that are left.

10. I'm sure there are, but in true fascist fashion I would bet they
have been silenced by either threats or blackmail.

11. I'm sure you're right. I think we're being run by REAL thugs & criminals
albeit the white-collar type, but nevertheless totally self-centered, dishonest, sneaky, unjust, cold-blooded and blatent lawbreakers.
