You might not agree, but I think the reason the Democrats lost all 5 Senate races in the south is because we needed candidates that were better somewhat.
With the exception of David Vitter in LA, I think the Republicans put up poor candidates in GA, NC, SC, and FL, or at least candidates that could have been beaten.
In Georgia, I think Denise Majette is an excellent person, but I don't believe Georgia was ready to elect an African-American woman. She received 40% of the vote. I hate to say this, but if the Democrats ran a white male candidate, he would have won. Johny Isaccson was a poor candidate and could have been beaten.
In North Carolina, the Democrats should not have ran Bowles. He ran once and the voters did not want him. They should have put up one of the Democratic Congressman from NC like McEntyre
In SC Condin also was a poor candidate. Tennebaum received 44% of the vote. They should have done the same thing like I mentioned for Georgia.
In Florida, all Mel Martinez did was lie and make things up during the campaign. I like Betty Castor, but I think someone else would have beaten him.
In Louisiana the Republicans actually ran a good candidate in David Vitter. I think the Democrats should have ran only one candidate (Chris John) so people would have been more focused on the race, and the Democrats would have had a better chance to win 51% of the vote.
