I have a solution to all this bitterness and hatred that would put all of us to work protecting our country.

First we create two different recruitment offices. One for protecting the homeland and one for protecting our interests abroad.

My suggestion is we post abroad recruiters at every evangelical/fundamentalist church in America. Every adult attending must enlist for limited service, say 18 months. If there are so many of them we will have an endless supply of toy soldiers for Bush's Army. Since they think we are all cowards, they can take care of dirty work.

We also place recruiters for Homeland Security at every library, computer store, and Starbucks in America (I think this will catch most of us.) Adult Liberals will be required to enlist for the same term to guard our homeland. We can do computer surveillance, search international shipments, etc.

Both of these contracts should be enforceable by law.

With half the country protecting our interests abroad and half the country protecting our homeland, there should be no failures. Of course we wouldn't be paid any better than our soldiers get paid now, so only one family member would be required to serve at a time. ;)
