BBV - Rio Arribo NM is a mess
I just cranked the New mexico numbers through my spreadsheet and BIG alarm bells are going off.

http://65.160.159.96/County17.htm

Please take a look at the numbers - I'm just going to assume that Precinct 001 is absentee/early and that they haven't entered the numbers yet, but look at just about any other precinct - out of more than 40 precincts the vast majority of them have more votes than voters.

I also compared the votes against the party registrations and in all but 4 precincts the REP ballots exceeded the REP registrations. The DEM ballots NEVER exceeded the DEM registrations.

I'm going to give my eyeballs a break for a bit and then take another look, but this is way out. (or I am, one or the other)

HG

1. Quick question...
I'd like to check out the voting numbers of my hometown (Carlsbad, NM) and the rest of Eddy county. Where are you getting the numbers for total number of Republicans and Democrats registered to vote?

2. didn't check all 42
but the ones I checked, all had more votes than voters. I did notice one where there were more democratic votes than voters, as well as another 25% republican votes.

3. I don't think there's an argument on the registered voters voting for
a different party. Like it or not, it could happen. The thing to look for is if the total number of voters exceed the number of registered voters.

Are there any small districts that have both partiy registered voters that a door to door could actually be done? I realize nobody would have to answer you, and a person's word isn't proof, but I know if it were done here in RED GEORGIA, I would have no problem telling them I voted for Kerry! Maybe a dumb idea, but it's a thought!

5. It's just Rio Arriba County. Republicans always commit voter fraud there.
It's a tradition.

6. You do know we won that county, right?
By a landslide. Just not sure if I'm missing something here...

8. Not missing a thing....
... the numbers simply don't make sense, regardless of who claims the win.

Rio Arribo is ONE example out of many in NM where the numbers that I'm seeing just don't add up.

Being a Canadian, I don't have a direct vested interest in the outcome, although the outcome definitely will affect us up here.

I'll accept a win by any party, as long as it's a legitimate and provable win - none of this 'Ok we won, now get-over-it and look over here at this big threat on the other side of the world' distraction.

Ok, so I'm an idealist.....

9. Just checking. :-)
To me it's more odd that the percentages for the pres. race vs. the subordinate races are so out of whack. Not that it can't happen but is it really that common that it would happen in every single precinct in the county?

7. Strange, strange strange...
The big question would be to add up all the votes from all the precincts and see how it adds up once you add in the 3,000+ from 001. Consider that the number shown may be the total with early/absentee voting, but the number of voters may be the number who showed up that day.

To me, the bigger irregularity is the consistency with which people voted for ALL DEMOCRATS, EXCEPT FOR KERRY!

For example

002: JOHN F. KERRY and JOHN EDWARDS Democratic 512

Lowest total from other DEM candidate: LIVIA OLGUIN Democratic 570 (most Dem candidates got over 600)

This happens OVER and OVER and OVER again in almost every single precinct I looked at.

EXCEPT!!! For Pricinct 004, which has even more bizzare results.

JOHN F. KERRY and JOHN EDWARDS Democratic 326 61.9%
GEORGE W. BUSH and DICK CHENEY Republican 201 38.1%

Total votes cast for President 527
Most votes cast in ANY OTHER CATEGORY: 311

SOMETHING IS NOT RIGHT HERE!!

Add it to the list!
