Fraud or not, this is not about Kerry this is about the integrity
of our democratic process. Citizens not only have the right to vote but have a right to have those votes count. Hey, look, maybe when this is all over, we may find out that Bush had won by a wider margin. It doesn't matter. What matters is that eligible voters be given equal access to cast their votes and have those votes be meaningful. This means we must find ways to eliminate or drastically reduce ballot spoilages and rethink this absentee vote thing. This also means that we thoroughly investigate the problems that may arise or have arisen in electronic voting. "It's the democracy stupid."

1. and we have the right
to know those votes are verifiable!

everyone should be approved to vote when they register and they should be issued a voting card and that is that! punch a stupid hole in the damn thing so it can't be used again! duh!

2. It's tough to say that when only progressives
seem to have integrity. Why is integrity a partisan thing? Why are we always holding ourselves to a higher standard? Are we walking around with big "sucker" labels on our foreheads?

3. I agree
no matter what the outcome of this election, If we live in a democracy then we should make sure that it works. Every story I have seen on major media or in the press, tells the story promoted by the proponents of e-voting, that there were little or no problems, that this election validates the touch screen machines. Why aren't all of the stories about disappearing votes, over votes, machines that default to one candidate (Bush) over another if not pressed hard enough, etc... being covered.

I realize that the election in over in most everyone's mind, and that people are tired of election coverage after months of brutal attack ads, but, how can we justify bringing "democracy" to other countries when we have problems at home?

Amen to that!! When there are tanks rolling in the streets of LA to intimidate protesters, I think we have truly reached a frightening state of affairs in this country.
