I just heard what must be the dumbest GI in Iraq say to the BBC...
regarding Fallujah. The BBC reporter was talking to a guy about the insurgents and he said: "Well, we got all the DUMB ones, so now I guess all the smart ones are left...but we'll win (sic).

The context was the report that while the US is close to the center of the city, they by no means control the city. The resistance is stiff. And, the "dumb ones" apparently have moved to the nearby city of Ramadi (sp?) AND U.S. troops have WITHDRAWN from that city.

So, out over the airwaves all over the world, we have a US soldier announcing that the DUMB ones are all gone, thereby displaying both ARROGANCE and stupidity at the same time!!

WAY TO GO!!

What do you want, pontification on the tremendous responsibility of the United States in the global battlefield on terrorism?

5. the Dummies
I would take that to mean 'we' have killed/captured all the easy (dumb) ones in the early part of the raid, and the smart ones are the survivors and the ones smart enough to hide and fight another day -- not that the ones who left beforehand were the dumb ones.
imho

8. Yeah, that's what I assumed he meant, too.
I've heard cops say that about criminals before. That they only catch the dumb ones. I assumed this was the same sort of statement.

6. psychologically speaking, he would be in a "hot state" right now
And when a person is in an adrenalin-fueled 'hot' psychological state, they can wind up speaking and acting in ways that they wouldn't if they were in their normal 'cold' state. Having a lot of adrenalin in your system can really affect your judgement.
