We haven't even BEGUN to fight
I just don't get the pathetic moods on this website. Were any of you people coherent in 1980 when Reagan beat Carter? That election marked the beginning of the Neocon power grab, and THAT election was WAY more depressing than this one.

And what's with all of you people being down on Kerry? Do you think he is just giving up? That man killed people with an M-16 in Viet-Nam. He's a FIGHTER. What you're witnessing right now is a STRATEGY in action. You're talking about the man who spearheaded Iran-Contra.

How many of you have heard Right-wing dipshits accuse Gore of trying to steal the 2000 election? Don't you realize that Kerry has to be calm, cool, and collected right now? He can't just start jumping up and down screaming election fraud. He used to be a prosecutor; he knows what he's doing.

As far as dealing with all of your Right-wing acquaintences, fuck 'em. Just shrug, smile, and say, "If that's what America wants, I guess that's that." GIVE IT TO THEM. It isn't going to last long.

I was a Red State liberal for twenty years; I spent fifteen in Pat Robertson's back yard, and five in Bush's Texas. I've been in Blue Minnesota for over a decade now, and I'm ready to move back to a Red State because I'm ready to FIGHT!!!

This battle will continue your whole life. Do you all understand that? There will be no end to it. There will ALWAYS be opposition. Take your hits, wipe the blood off you face, and move on.

1. I haven't quit
I'm doing what I can. And I will continue doing just that. I'm not going to go gentle into that good night, as Dylan Thomas might say.

2. I think you're made for special ops.
I got a very vivid image of a man lurking in the shadows with a knife in his mouth and blood on his face while reading your post. And I liked it.

5. Thanks...
I've been thinking a great deal about my greatest American hero, Tom Paine. I know he'd be enraged right now and writing another Crisis Paper.

21. Here here!
Given my screen name, I agree wholeheartedly. We have been given a chance to change history, to make a difference, to be true heroes to posterity. It's rare to be given a chance to fight such a clearly defined evil. Those don't come along very often.

3. An old saying goes
I’ll fight ‘em ‘til hell freezes over and then I’ll fight ‘em on the ice.

We gotta get this in our gut folks. You fight them like they kicked your puppy, or punched your mom in the gut!

4. You're not alone
If you look at the number of people who are on this site, none of us plan on rolling over like they'd like us to.

We owe this fight to our forefathers and foremothers who fought for this country many, many years ago. I have 3 children and am a devout Catholic who does not want to see my children's freedom at stake.

No need to move. WE'RE NOT GIVING UP!

7. That election was NOT way more depressing.
It didn't folow a previous election that we thought was stolen! It didn't follow a Scotus chosen president. And the election itself wasn't considered stolen. And people were not as afraid of Reagan as they are of Bush. No one thought Reagan was psychco. Maybe they should have, but that is a moot point. And Reagan wasn't as full of hate as Bush. As far as Kerry is concerned, I am praying you are right. I voted and campaigned for him because I believed in him He was my first choice. I want to believe in him yet. I want to know that he has our back in this fight. And I want to believe that this is not over.

9. The fight
What if we can't get the proof in a week and the election is certified? Does that mean the fight to expose these people is over? No. There's alot of political agendas and not all of them are Bush's.

8. Democracy is a process, not a prize
We have to keep on this fight without rest, without complacency, and without despair. The single greatest victory for Bush this year was to create animosity and division in the Democratic party. I'm sure that they haven't the foresight to see the full implications of this yet, but the calling of the election is a serious blow to our party. If we give up now, turning into Greens, progressive liberals, and other parties, we give Bush a PERMANENT hold over this country. We here at DU will be the spearhead in this effort, but we are not the total mass of the people who want this country to change. No effort worth having is given or earned with little effort. Look at the civil rights movement of the 1960's. Did those people back down? Did they run the first time somebody waved a gun in their face?

11. Log Cabin Republicans=Jewish for the Nazi Party
Why haven't the gays gotten organized. There are probably a lot more gay/lesbian supporters than Jews. We all know why both parties pander to the Jewish cause, they vote in large numbers and donate large amounts of money. The log cabin idiots who did not endorse bush, should have come out and endorsed Kerry, should have walked out of the republican convention and gave money to Kerry.

12. This Is Much Worse Than 1980
Edited on Tue Nov-09-04 05:56 AM by AndyTiedye
> Were any of you people coherent in 1980 when Reagan beat Carter?

That was bad. This was worse. Much worse.

In 1980 we knew we didn't stand a chance of winning the election
with TV doing AMERICA HELD HOSTAGE DAY 444 every night, we were
down 20 points in the polls, so we were prepared for the loss.
This time we thought we had a really good chance. We didn't really,
becaue the fix was in, but we thought we had a good chance.

The crushing dissapointment was not the worst part by any means.

Now we face, not only the loss of an election, but the loss of
all future elections and the end of our republic -- replaced
by a Dominionist/Reconstructionist theocracy.

They own the news, they own the voting machinez, elections are
likely to continue to go their way until they control everything.

I have no idea HOW to fight something like that.

13. We need to get a liberal billionaire to buy one of the big
voting machine companies.

Then the Republican Congress will pass laws for transparency.

17. I worked hard for Democrats in 1980
and I did not feel nearly as bad about Reagan's win as I do about this election. Reagan was a politician that I vehemently disagreed with on everything, but still Reagan cared about his country. The current administration only cares about lining their own pockets and the pockets of their buddies. Us regular folk are here to be cannon fodder or to work at menial jobs, and they feed us religion as an opiate to our pain. I never felt so bad about an election as I do about this one.

22. Dude, it's not the end of the world
It's time to regroup and re-think the strategy. The loss of all future elections? I think not. It may come to a bloody revolution, but it isn't over...I don't even think it'll come to that.

Everything is cyclical...EVERYTHING. This bullshit neocon movement can't go on forever because it is doomed to fail. It's BAD policy, and sooner or later it will bite the public in the ass. I have maintained for the last year that this country isn't hurting enough to swing left. Maybe it will take four or eight years, but this trend will end.

They always do.

Don't be so pessimistic. People have been predicting doomsday throughout recorded history. Read Stephen Jay Gould's "Questioning the Millenium."

Never underestimate the human spirit...things will get better.

23. What Strategy Can Possibly Make Up for BBV?
If there is one thing we learned this year it's that we can't win a rigged election.

> It's time to regroup and re-think the strategy.

What strategy? The Dominion owns the voting machinez! They can
install whomever they bloody want!

> The loss of all future elections?

That is what happens when the fix is in.

> I think not. It may come to a bloody revolution,

which we would lose very badly.

14. I agree. And on the Kerry issue
see my post here. http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=104x2648688

As I said in part:
There have been a lot of people here at DU lately posting doom and gloom messages. "we are abandoned" "all is lost" etc. Think about this for a minute. We know that the repugs would like nothing better than for us to feel whipped. They not only don't want us to fight THIS election, they definitely don't want us to fight the machines. Their plans for the future fascist imperium are based on the machines.

One reason that a Kerry stealth plan would have to be very, very...stealthy, is that political campaigns are full of spies. Even people fairly high up may not be all they say they are. And that goes for here too. We know that at least 2 people who had posted here for a long time "unveiled" last week. Don't doubt that more didn't break cover. Sometimes in a war, the enemy will sacrifice a few spies to make a group think they are all gone.

KKKarl would like nothing better than for us to abandon hope, abandon our efforts to find and spread the truth. He wants us demoralized, depressed, and deactivated. I can't know whether the people spreading loss of hope are KKKarl operatives, sympathizers, or simply foolish. What I do know is that the message of demotivation fits his desires, no matter who spreads it. Don't be sucked in.

18. Kayell, thanks
First, who were the posters who were exposed? I missed that.

Second, your words strike to the heart of the matter. We must be supportive of any efforts to progress. The "You're wasting your time" posters need to shut the fuck up.

To those wading into battle, I salute you. I am proud to be working with you as we fight, against great odds, to save this country. We are learning more every day and as we do, our voices become stronger and stronger. We will be successful, we have to be successful, the alternative is the highway to hell.

Kerry On!
