word or hostage incident and I wondered what had everyone did and thought during certain key moments of that time from 11/04/79 when those hostages were captured, straight through to a year later or 11/04/80 when the Republicans or Ratpooplicans apparently succeeded in their "Get Carter" effort to possibly 1 /20/81 when those hostages were finally freed.


"Canada Caper": I vaguely remembered that incident though probably didn't take much notice of it at the time as I was only in grade three, but I had taken more glee over it when I was in high school and found that the Canadian envoy at the time was from my home town of Calgary.


"Operation Eagle's Claw:" For some strange reason that incident left an impression on me, possibly on account of how 8 commandoes had perished by burning in a chopper mishap.


The "Get Carter" effort on the first anniversary: Left me feeling kind of "numb," though I was in grade 4 at the time, possibly for something in me had me liking Jimmy Carter over Ronbo Raygun.


Second Christmas in Iran: Found that the rendition of "Away In A Manger," done by one of the then female captives couldn't help but move me to tears or :cry.:


Captives' release: Was feeling kind of strangely bittersweet but possibly also relieved for the captives at the time that they had gotten out alive.


By the way I indirectly knew the guy who was in the sense was the "leader" of the former captives who at the time had to bark out orders like "GET THE SHREDDERS WORKING, NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" or Bruce Laingen and his wife Penne for I actually sent him a Christmas card about 4 or 5 years back.
