Read Keith Olberman's blog today.
"there is a small but blood-curdling set of news stories that right now exists somewhere between the world of investigative journalism, and the world of the Reynolds Wrap Hat. And while the group’s ultimate home remains unclear - so might our election of just a week ago.

Stories like these have filled the web since the tide turned against John Kerry late Tuesday night. "

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/6210240

His is the only "news" program that I can stand to watch anymore. Let's give him the ratings he deserves.

6. Wow, look what he's saying he'll do!
Thus the majority of the media has yet to touch the other stories of Ohio (the amazing Bush Times Ten voting machine in Gahanna) or the sagas of Ohio South: huge margins for Bush in Florida counties in which registered Democrats outnumber registered Republicans 2-1, places where the optical scanning of precinct totals seems to have turned results from perfect matches for the pro-Kerry exit poll data, to Bush sweeps.

We will be endeavoring to pull those stories, along with the Warren County farce, into the mainstream Monday and/or Tuesday nights on Countdown.

Thank you, Keith!

20. Yes, let's watch Keith Olberman!
All of the others have been eliminated from my life. No more Matthews, no more Sunday news shows with Pumpkin Head et al, no more stopping by Fox to see what they are up to!

I will only watch Olberman. Occasionally I will watch The Newshour. But that's about it.

I'll be damned if I'm going to jack up the ratings of the enablers of the Bush regime! I think it's time to draw a line in the sand.

25. Cue faint, thready strains of the "William Tell Overture"
Not only was he reading of "the struggles Edward R. Murrow and William L. Shirer had during their early reporting from Europe in ’38 and ’39, because CBS thought them too anti-Nazi" JUST LAST NIGHT (be still my heart), but he closes with: "In the interim, Senator Kerry, kindly don’t leave the country."

What a sweety!

26. Keith must realize...if this story pans out,
he could be recognized as the first MSM reporter to pick it up.

And if he is recognized as such...and the story ends up being proven to the world, he would be the next Woodward and/or Bernstein.

That'll do wonders for ones career.

go to the break. It was hysterical. He even wrote a blog about the gyn-ob thing.

He's the best. He said earlier this year--maybe after the Republican convention that he didn't vote for Bush/Cheney in 2000, right there on the show. I about fell out of my chair. From what I can tell, I think he's a pretty big internet fan and I would not be surprised at all to find out that he's a visitor to DU. It's odd that a lot of the stories that he does on his show (that no one else will usually touch) are ones that we've talked about here.

His ratings are a long way away from beating O'Lielly but last month his show beat Paula Zahn's on CNN. They've improved pretty dramatically in the last several months. I just hope and pray that MSNBC will have the good sense to keep him on the air. They fired Phil Donahue for being a liberal and his ratings were better than Keith's have ever been (in the same exact time slot). But boy, he's got big ones considering that his network is owned by GE! Thank God some journalists out there aren't afraid to speak their minds and to actually do some research to get to the heart of a story!

48. Keith - in NC alone Bush received over 35,000 "accidental" votes
from mistakes in two counties... Guilford County, and Craven county.

Thats 1% accounted for in the Presidents Popular vote "Mandate"...

Why is it the mistakes always favor the president? Anyway, with mistakes like this I'm sure the White House won't be complaining any time soon.

Damn straight we will, and the media needs to get to the bottom of this. Kudos to you my friend!

57. Free press? If it was free Keith could report on whatever he wanted
The fact they want to stop this particular story, shows me there is truth to it.

The other reason possible reasons are... they think this story will generate too much interest... which translates to increased ad sales. Not a reason to cancel the story.

Second, they consider the story to be untrue... which if they reported on it could cause them to "lose credibility"... right, when has this consideration entered into the equation?

Next, they could be worried the story is true and could eventually cause the vote to be overturned... The only plausible reason to put a stop on the story. Don't want to upset the current Corporatocracy in the WH.

If you'e going to substantiate the analysis, you need the hard data.

61. my note to Olbermann

Dear Mr. Olbermann,

I will be tuning in to your show tonight and tomorrow after weeks of not watching ANY television news. I will be hoping to hear news.
We remember news.
Many, MANY of us remember news.

We remember real news before jouralists turned belly up for the republican party.
We remember real news before station owners pandered to the conservative 'base'. If those owners believe they can continue to garner advertising dollars this way they are in for a surprise soon. News flash : The 'base' has its own news outlets. The Conservative Christian Head of His Household type does not 'allow' his family to watch ad after ad for alcohol and erectile dysfunction . ( Hmmmm, maybe they realized there was a connection.)

Real news does exist. Many, MANY of us have chosen to find real news elsewhere since the station owners have chosen not to give it to us.
We have turned to European news outlets or internet news reports.

Hopefully, tonight on your show, Mr Olbermann, we will hear real news again.

Sincerely, J
