4. Unless they're organizing a precinct by precinct survey of votes in prep
Edited on Sun Nov-07-04 05:43 PM by vidali
for a massive Qui Tam (or some other kind of) lawsuit, any grassroots power they hold now will shift elsewhere.

Long Live Democracy.

10. Not only that, but there arleady ARE organizations
DFA comes immediately to mind. MoveOn. MANY others.

Just what does he think he's going to do differently (or better) than what's already being done (and not just by Dean)? Why does he have to splinter the efforts by creating his own little fiefdom (or whatever)? Unless this is a totally, totally NEW initiative of some sort, it just strikes me as ... sorry, but something akin to mental masturbation. Or building a monument to himself.

There are things that the Kerry can do if they can prove fraud. It's been 5 days. Give them a chance.

... forgive me for not jumping for sheer joy. The huge silence from John Kerry regarding obvious voter fraud and suppression during this election, and his quick concession, is speaking more loudly to me right now than anything else.

for kerry. please understand the depth of despair settling over most of this nation, and the panic that is growing the longer kerry remains sequestered. this is a fact: we fear any force that can defeat a fine man like john kerry, and all the more so if his defeat was through methods as corrupt as they appear.
thank you for dropping your use of sarcasm. sarcasm is impossible to address.

38. I understand your despair
I have my own. I grew up in MA and followed his entire career. I waited most of my life for him to run and worked very hard on his behalf. He is a great man and my heart is aching right now.

He'll be on Paula Zahn tomorrow night, it appears. I heard that not through the campaign, but here and from other bloggers.

I did not mean to be sarcastic, I am defensive of JK. One of those people who have "Got His Back".

I don't know what the future holds. I wish I did. I do know however that working for Kerry's campaign was a life altering experience for me and I can't go back to life as usual now.

A large group of Kerry Bloggers have become very close and we want to stay together and continue to work with him, as Dean's supporters and Clarks supporters did.

by design, are meant to muddle understanding and encourage innuendo. my most gracious assumption is--and i'm assuming you are a kerry insider, judging from your tone--that you are jumping the gun, hinting (for whatever reason) at future positive developments. i pray for future positive developments, but i discard faith without reason.

I was asked to share the information. No one is jumping the gun but you. As soon as more info is avaialable, I'll pass it on.

When Dean stepped out of the race during the primaries it was very similar. People shared that he would be forming a new organization and when the details were in place they made an announcement.

18. FYI TO ALL COMPLAINERS!
A lot of people worked very hard for the Kerry campaign they still believe in him! I am one of those people. I volunteered for over 20 months.

Yes there are other organizations. Yes, Dean has one. Yes there is MoveOn. But there were 55 million people who did vote for Kerry and many of those people have the desire to continue to work for the causes and issues he promotes.

As for the voting fraud issue... it is being investigated! And plenty of people here have stated this over and over again! John Kerry has NOT abandoned anyone.

If you are not interested in being involved in his organization, wonderful! If you are interested in being involved in his organization, wonderful!

BUT SHOW SOME COMMON DECENCY AND RESPECT FOR THOSE WHO DO!

You want change? Stop complaining and do something positive.

24. is it complaining--and maybe you ought to rethink your use of this
characterization, as it formed the basis of bush's dismissal of kerry's rhetoric--is it complaining to ask for more than vague, faith-based assertions that kerry is on-task before we dedicate more of our lives to a strangely-silent candidate? the answer is no. maturity and experience dictate that i, for one, am very clear of the mission before re-enlisting, which i will gladly do--at the expense of other urgent matters in my small life--if and only if mr. kerry's intentions are made crystal-clear. i have unquestioned faith in God and my wife; all others require damned good reasons to win my dedication.
drop the word "complaining" it pisses off folks like me who go to great lengths to be kind in light of a national tragedy.

19. This old soldier will not fade away
We made a difference, and I think the country and the Democratic Party are better for all we did together. We moved the debate forward. We offered a powerful critique of the Bush-Cheney go-it-alone policy in Iraq. We laid out real solutions for waging a smarter war on terrorism. And we provided significant financial support to House and Senate candidates who share our views.

We didn't win on Tuesday, but we’re not giving up.

This is a difficult week for all who believe in our vision of America. Like so many of you, I worked hard for John Kerry. Like so many, I believed John Kerry would win. And I believed John would be a good president. Thank you for supporting him. I very much regret that he won't be there in the White House for us.

Much will be written about this election. People will analyze the nominees, their platforms, and the processes. There will be detailed looks at the electorate. I'm sure our party will look hard at itself -- its ideas, policies, and approaches.

We'll likely be very tough on ourselves and each other -- but I hope not too tough. We want to strengthen our party and our ability to compete in the next election and the one after that. So we need to show each other some appreciation, too, to keep it all in perspective. We did a lot of good, and we have to build on that.

I'll be listening to their views -- and to yours. It will take time, effort, and honesty to sort out the lessons. But I hope you'll be there as we do so. And participate. I look forward to reading your ideas and hearing from you in the coming days.

As for me, well, I'm continuing with efforts in the private sector. But I haven't lost my love for this country nor my concern for her welfare. So I’m not going anywhere. Through WesPAC, I'll continue to speak out and fight for the issues we care about and the values we stand for. We must bridge the partisan divide in America, but we’ve also got to keep fighting for what we know is right.

Thanks again for standing beside me over the many months. We may have lost the first battle in the fight for our nation’s future, but it’s far from the last one. We've got a lot left to do, and I promise to continue the effort to assure a safe and just nation.

Sincerely,

Wes Clark

There are many avenues for everyone to keep up the fight. That is the point.

If John Kerry did not provide an avenue to keep up the fight people would complain about that too.

It's heartening to see that so many have not given up. Many of us who worked so long for John Kerry's campaign are looking forward to continuing to work with him.

Thank you for addressing us. We've got your back, too. Words are never enough when the debt is great; but, we are in your debt and thank you from the bottom of our hearts. I have to say and you must have heard, "Our man did not go down in defeat, he was shot down by thieves and cheats." We will continue in our effort to get the proof. We know you will also be working beneath the radar. We depend on it. Love to you and your family for your sacrifice to this country in its time of great need.
