The megacorps will get the most benefit, have no fear.
Here's the problem: US Companies that employ US workers can't compete very well because the cost of medical insurance for their employees is astronomical. Everyone agrees this is true.
Here's the solution from the Dem and Repuke points of view:
Dem: government regulation and subsidies, rebates, tax credits to take some of the burden off employers. (Of course the real solution is a Canadian-style health care system because the "fat" that needs to be taken out of the system is the insurance/HMO industry.)
Repuke: Transfer the cost to employees with as little expense to business and government as possible.
Both methods solve the immediate problem as defined above. (National health care solves it long term, but that's another story.)
Getting rid of regulations and liability insurance costs do the same thing. They would, in fact, make the corporations more able to employ US workers for the time being and remain highly competive... but they will also destroy the health, safety, and general well-being of the citizens, and contribute to the "death" of the middle class. This kind of approach takes burdens off businesses at the expense of the life, liberty, and happiness of the vast majority of citizens. That's what makes it immoral and unAmerican, imho.
It's government sponsorship of the great race to the bottom.
