As a gay American living abroad and horrified at the impending predation, I am here to help, and want to join with other expat Americans to help.

What are some of the ways that those of us who live outside the Bush Empire can aid our state-side friends?

I can think of two ways:

1) Assisting draftee cannon fodder for Bush's war to get to Sweden, France, or other safe places;

2) Assisting gay and lesbian Americans to get out for safe pastures as Crystallnacht Ashcroft-style approaches.

Any other ways we can help?

2. I don't have any ideas

but I'm deeply touched by your concern and offer of help. Sooner, rather than later, many will need such aid. I have an eighteen year old son who is deeply opposed to the war. Of course, I worry about the draft. Again thanks for your post.

3. How does citizenship work thru adult adoption?

Expats who couldn't offer marriage might be able to adopt.

Particularly 17 yr. old potential draftees.

An overground, legal adoption railroad?

4. Yeah I Don't Think You CAN Help In That Way....

It's really not that easy to emmigrate....you would have to find work etc. for perfect strangers.

5. Some thoughts.

Support the fight that continues here. There is much grassroots work to be done. Donate to small, local organizations that help get progressive candidates elected, maybe Democracy for America, the ACLU, etc.

Write LTTE's and continue to be engaged with the community where you are from.

Find a locally active group to support, cyber-style. Perhaps there is work you can do on the computer, like Big Path Paul and his beautiful flyers.

A lot of us are not remotely interested in leaving. This is my home, and I intend to fight the rethuglicans for every single civil liberty I have.
