Because he knew that if he sought election based on an open discussion of issues honestly he was bound to lose, he and his advisers decided to take the route of deception in 2000.That deception led to the enxt stage which was to perpetauate his illegal rule by an event of Pearl Harbor like magnitude to induce fear in us so he can pose as a Churchilian savior.His power grab in the 2002 elections by using dubious tactics to assure him an iron clad majority in Congress has essentially consolidated his power so his agenda of dismantling all programs that benefit people can move forward.

In looking at these actions, one wonders why a person would stoop to such tactics.Its roots lie in the notion that people like him, Rumsfeld and Cheney are, by their innate superiority, are better endowed to run things in our country than the American people at large.Although this violates the spirit and letter of our Constitution, their belief in their "Divine Right" is so well entrenched, their contempt for all of us is so deep, that they are willing to forgo the usual proces of building a consensus for their agenda by open discussion.That would mean transparency and accountability, two concepts totally alien to them.They have, of course, carried these attitudes to the international arena with even more disastrous results.

Yesterday's news that China totally rejects the notion of American World Hegemony and talks contemptuously of the Bush Doctrine should send a warning to our armchair warriors that they have awakened a sleeping giant and here forward any intiatives on their part will be met with resistance from the most populaous nation earth.
