Lurking Deaniacs...just watched inspiring DVD of 1st annual DemocracyFest.
Attention lurking Deaniacs, or anyone who is interested in what the future holds for DFA....or just to see a long segment of vintage Dean relaxed and speaking with friends....this is a whole other side of politics...and keeping community together. I got teary, but I felt so inspired. I got a better picture of the core of DFA, and I felt like it was worth all the heartache of the campaign. Dean says he permits no nostalgia, not yet.

I had to just quit watching the TV today. Being in a swing state is very stressful. I had ordered this DVD from the blog, just never took time to watch it. I am so glad I did. There is a long speech, upbeat, and a long Q&A session with Howard Dean and those at the Fest. There is a session with Joe Trippi as well. He was welcomed warmly by this bunch.

The DVD also contains the Love Letter to the Dean Campaign. Wow!
Details:
SNIP..."This music video is your glimpse at documentary footage shot among the Dean grassroots in Iowa, Wisconsin, Virginia and DC. The video premiered at Democracy Fest, in Massachusetts , on July 24. (6:42)
Democracy Fest Vol. 1 DVD-R's featuring "Love Letter to the Dean Campaign" along with speeches by Joe Trippi and Howard Dean from Democracy Fest.
$10.00 (plus Shipping and Handling)

Watching this just made me feel like I had gotten so stressed out over the election here (we are poll watchers and more)....that I had forgotten how much of the fight really begins after November 2. It must continue. And it will.

I so much appreciate the lady who took time to put it all together.

There are some great DVDs here, one coming soon of Lakoff. There is a Democracy Fest 2 DVD as well,
Democracy Fest Vol. 2 features speakers like Zephyr Teachout (ACT, formerly DeanForAmerica), Glen Maxie, Charlie Grapski, and Eugene Hedlund (TruthandHope.org), along with great music and activists from the Progressive wing. (Including Laramie Crocker)

*An aside comment: I feel Kerry/Edwards will do better than expected in this very Republican-leaning county. I think Castor will do better than expected as well. I don't think it will be easy, but something is happening that I can not put my finger on. The Bush supporters are so so angry now, more than ever before. I call it fear....pure simple fear.*

2. Get the volume one if you only order one.
I felt like I was there in MA with them. I felt so much better after watching it. There is so much anger here that people will blow over the mention of politics. I have to tell my hubby to shut up when we go out.

There is a difference here. Hard to define....there is a passion on our part, and a lack of it on theirs.

3. Just $10 for this great DVD.
A kick for interested Dean folks, as the board is moving so fast today.
