I'm kind of let down by Feingold
Edited on Sun Oct-24-04 03:58 PM by BayCityProgressive
with Russ Feingold. I just found out he opposes gay marriage. I thought of any senator he would be the one to support it. Does anyone know where he is at in the polls? Is he going to win re-election? Are there any US senators who support gay marriage besides Kennedy? If not that is truly pathetic. I heard a rumor that Republican Lincoln Chafee supports gay marriage.

1. The republican senate commitee
has decided not to fund the republican challenger.

Fiengold is almost definetely going to be reelected to the senate seat. I'm a bit disappointed in his stance on this, but he's a good guy overall. I still have a lot of respect for him because he voted against the PATRIOT Act.

5. I appreciate all that
but, shouldn't people take a discernable position? I appreciate its wedge aspects, but what does Feingold believe? Is he some religious person who thinks marriage shouldn't be between two of the same gender? Is he a person that respects gays and wants to give them equal rights and protections?

4. Russ is running against a cookie cutter version of Bush
Wisconsin needs Russ to win this one. Russ is also the senator Bush/Cheney would most like to see out of office.

6. After the election I'd be surprised to see
the gay marriage issue resurface at the national level. It is being and should be handled by the individual states. Push at the state level, not the national level.
