Sherwoods (producer/Stolen Honor) no bid government contract
I remember reading a post in DU recently that Sherwood had received a no bid government contract from his old Pennsylvania political crony Frank Reich to set up a 'first responder' national website and that he is way behind schedule. If this is true; (a) where did he find the extra time to spend producing this smear "documentary" on John Kerry - (b) are there any indications that taxpayer dollars have been misspent for this blatant/partisan "news documentary" - (c) if any truth to these suppositions, why has neither the DNC nor the Kerry campaign made more more of a stink about this? Please, any links to the previous DU post would be appreciated.

1. www.firstresponder.gov is way behind shedule, links to info on Sherwood

It looks like this is true. Maybe this should be discussed with Media Matters, the DNC, and the Kerry campaign.

"As Catchegory documented, Al Neri, editor of The Insider, a newsletter about Pennsylvania politics, noted in June 2003 that Sherwood is "a former Ridge confidant and administration official" who was "tapped to create and manage a new Fed website -- www.firstresponder.gov -- a key Bush Administration public outreach program." (Firstresponder.gov is not yet operational. According to the American Public Works Association, it was supposed to be live by March 2004, but it has apparently been delayed.)"

From the American Public Works Association:

Website To Focus On Public Works
APWA HELPING DEVELOP FIRST RESPONDER CONTENT
The Office of Domestic Preparedness within the Department of Homeland Security has asked APWA to help it develop content for a new website, http://www.firstresponder.gov. On the site, public works is identified as a primary emergency responder and APWA will supply content pertinent to public works officials.

Expert discussions, polls, online courses and other content to help first responders prepare for and respond to a terrorist event will be included. The site is not yet operational but is scheduled to be available to the public March 1, 2004.
