Bwahahaha!!! Check out what happened to the B/C sign out here!!
Sorry for the super-large pic, but I had to share!

Some twirp spent 45 minutes setting this up across from my road the other day, and when I drove by it less than 12 hours later, someone had displayed exactly what they think of Bush/Cheney!! Perhaps a bit of revenge for those of you who had your Kerry/Edwards signs stolen ;)

4. ROFLMAO!
This is HILARIOUS! Where is this sign located?

(For those of you having difficulty downloading the pic, it's a large B/C sign that looks as if somebody threw a can of white paint on it!)

13. It's in VERY conservative Berks County, PA...
Pretty close to my house. It is right on my way to everywhere (store, school, etc) and I figure it wasn't up 12 hours when someone expressed their...feelings ;)

10. It's a whitewash - just like the 9/11 Commission
I think I know who did it now - it was clearly someone who knows Bush/Cheney did it.

16. Well...
I think it's funny because they're getting a taste of their own medicine. Maybe they'll realize how much it sucks to spend your time and money promoting your candidate to have some idiot come and deface it because they disagree.

Again, I didn't do it so don't fuss at me, but I thought it was funny (and so did lots of Dems around here). Disagree with my finding the humor in it if you must, but *I* thought it is hilarious that karma is biting them securely in the ass for all they've done to us :)

It just didn't make me laugh, that's all. Different strokes, I guess.

As this thread may have shown you, we have a small but vocal contigent of holier-than-thou types at DU. It bothers these folks not a whit when some freeper son of a bitch steals or defaces K/E yard signs, or screams obscenities at you and gives you the finger because he disagrees with your bumper stickers.

But heaven forbid one of us should fight back against those douche bags! Then, and only then, will DU's holier-than-thou clique wake up, and then it's to chastize the nasty old liberal who finally had enough right-wing bullshit and actually did something about it. Seems that when a liberal fights back, he's somehow violating a right-winger's "freedom."

Believe me, I find a lot less fault with you than I do with those types of DUers.

22. My thoughts exactly
I've worked on political campaigns for ten years - eight here in Virginia and two in Pennsylvania. They pull crap like this - and WORSE.

I was working on former Senator Robb's campaign during his Senate reelection four years ago. One of our volunteers was putting up signs outside of a local high school that was holding a rally for George Allen. Somebody inside the school saw him and called the police and had our volunteer arrested just for the hell of it on trumped-up charges. Our volunteer had to post bail, hire a lawyer and take a day off work (that he could ill afford) to go to court.

On another occasion, a few years back, one of our regular county Dem committee members was working for our candidate here in the 11th-Virginia. When she opened the front door to leave for the evening, a totem pole made up of our opponent's (the irascible Tom Davis) signs fell on top of her, which she proceeded to tear up. Davis's volunteers literally jumped out of the woodwork and started taking photos of her destroying the totem pole. They called the cops and had her followed to her house. Again - another attorney retained, another day in court. It took her a long time before she get over her paranoia of being followed around.

Y'all need to understand the mentality you're dealing with here. These are NOT normal people. Hell, they're not even PEOPLE. They don't play fair. They have no brains, no conscience, no scruples, no honor and no respect for anyone or anything that isn't on THEIR side. They don't understand the entire concept of acceptable behavior because they think the laws don't apply to them. Rules and regulations are for the little people - NOT for the "haves".

Yeah, I have no problem with these assholes being retaliated against. They fired the opening salvo, after all.

28. Similar sign in my area -- except yellow paint was used
There's an intersection -- rural area -- with lots of small signs and one huge B/C sign like the one in the photo.

Two weeks ago the sign was painted yellow -- just a yellow wash over the whole sign -- you could still see B/C 04 under the yellow paint.

Sign is replaced.

Today (Sunday) the sign is again painted yellow -- this time the blue edge is now a bright yellow. What is interesting is that this is an area where there are John Birch signs and "Get US out of the UN" signs.

Given all the people here who are complaining about what the fascist Bush supporters are doing to Kerry signs, this is funny and OK because it's a Bush sign?

8. Its definitely not right and does nothing for us.
We bitch and moan about how we cant put Kerry bumper stickers on cars or how frequently cars get vandalized with the stickers.

Gloating about this reeks of hipocrisy.

9. I agree with the posters who find little humor in this
I have had my own bumpersticker ripped off my car. I have seen plenty of cutsie little Puke stunt trashing the physical fruits of our efforts. Since every one stunt we pull counts as 10 Puke stunts because of the double standard that exists in this country, we cannot afford to pull stunts or laugh at them. Besides, it is destruction of property, puke or not. Not cool.

11. First of all, it was on public property NOT in someone's yard...
And I didn't do it so don't complain at me.

The fact that do this shit to us all the time is he point. I thought it was pretty friggin' hilarious considering they DO do this crap to us all the time, so why not laugh when karma bites them in the ass?

Lighten up!

I've been putting off emptying that thing for too long, methinks.

On edit: Darn the luck, the deat rat that I caught in my trap (he was eating the dogfood in the garage) went out in yesterday's garbage. Woulda made a darn fine mailbox stuffer.

21. Is this the free speech we hold so important?
It is easy to tolerate speech we agree with. It is more difficult to tolerate speech we do not agree with. We must tolerate the expression of opinions we do not agree with or we do not have free speech.

I strongly condemn this type of tactic and am saddened that some here at DU support vandalism. It has crossed my mind that some stating these immature opinions are infiltrators.

It is no excuse that someone had a Kerry sign vandalized. We do not want to stoop to fascist tactics to rebuild democracy in the USA.

24. I didn't have a camera available, unfortunately
but on a drive from Nevada to Oklahoma my wife and I passed an oversized Bush/Cheney sign, and right next door, an equally large "I'm not with Stupid ====>" sign. Now that, I thought was funny.

What do you expect when one party pulls the sort of crap we've been seeing for the last 4 years? Alot longer than that, really- but it's come to head in the last four years.

I see this kind of thing as the chickens coming home to roost, and yes, I do think it's amusing.

25. I saw a very funny defaced B/C sign last night
Edited on Mon Oct-11-04 01:14 AM by Oregonian
This is just outside of Portland, Ore. on an extremely busy street.

Someone had carefully changed

Bush to Dumb
Cheney to Greedy

It looked like it had been altered by white tape. Excellent work!
I wondered if it had been the work of a DUer.

27. They should have used blood-red
paintballs, or other blood-red paint (aka - in ketchup bottles) as they walk past an offending home...

Why steal signs when they can be made 'appropriate' with sooooo little effort.

Swingers will associate * w/ blood.

Good? - Bad? How messed up are you?
