He succesfully removes the biggest drag on the * ticket(himself) and wins them sweeping sympathy votes.

People like Cheney and Cheney himself can't be selfless. It's not in their genes.

What they will do is accuse Kerry and Edwards of as many preposterous issues as they can, like the one that Kerry used crib notes during the debate. We all know it's untrue, but once the rumor is out, it's hard to kill.

Remember when Bush admitted that Osama and Saddam had nothing to do with each other? That was a couple of years ago and after the fact that they had cleverly connected Iraq to Al Queda and 9-11. People still believe Iraq was connected to 9-11 even though Shrub said it wasn't.
