Reporters who cover hurricanes in person should be locked up. NOW.
What is the rationale for this?

Everyone else is told to leave.

What if one of them dies?

1. OMG-they will have a field day.
Think of the ratings-one of their own dies on air.

3. I overheard Deb Norville ask this same question on air....
...was actually kind of funny....she said something like 'why do you need to show us pictures of the wind blowing? we know the wind is blowing its a hurricane....isn't that dangerous?" At last a reasonable question!

4. I COMPLETELY disagree
Anderson Cooper gave me the best laugh I had today. Watching him get whipped around out there was hilarious

5. Casualties of wind.
I heart Mike Bettes though, love him, love him, love him.

He was my weather man in Asheville NC, they did a segment on him while he was training for the Assault on Mt. Mitchell, a grueling-ass bike race straight up Mt. Mitchell.

He's a babe, and he's low man on the totem pole on the weather channel, so that's why he got stuck in Pensacola.

9. On the other hand, I can think of a number of politicians who
really should be sent to cover hurricanes. Wonder if hurricane force winds would budge the Brillcream slick hairdos of Senators Frist and Santorum?

10. It isn't just them.
They have a camera person and maybe other crewmembers there with them too that are being put in danger.
