Jeb Bush, Kitty Kelly said today on Dianne Rheem show that
Jeb's Mexican(she said Mexican, not me) wife was not accepted in Texas, said they told him to just say she was a Bush in Texas but that did not work so he moved to Florida where she would be accepted. Was the Bush's not able to stop him from marrying her/was this long range plans for the Spanish vote to keep the Bush dynasty going?

1. I don't know---I don't move in their "set"....
But it's not an insult to call Columba Bush "Mexican"--she was born in Leon, Guanajuato.

From my occasional perusal of the Houston Chronicle's society column, it's evident that ladies & gentlemen from Mexico do move in the higher circles here. But perhaps they're not really "the Best" circles?

Was Ma Bush happy that the "George Bush" of the next generation would not be lily white? Was she totally supportive of Laura when it became evident that she would not produce a male heir? Laura did have a hard time with the twins' pregnancy (per Molly Ivins--"Shrub").

I may have to read the darn book after all. These social details are actually more interesting to me than any "scandals".

2. Yes
George the First *sent* Jeb to Florida, where he had long laid the groundwork between the hidden government of the US and the Cuban exile community. Jeb's job was to advance his agenda utilizing the plutocrat Anglo community there AND the wacky elements among Cubans. George the First has connections to them dating back to prior to Bay of Pigs, and beyond :tinfoilhat:

Ha ha -- George W said that the fact that George and Barb let jeb marry Columba is a sign that they support bi-racial marriage. As Kelley points out, this is a strange statement, because even racist Texas and its miscegnation laws NEVER prohibited marriage between Anglos and Mexicans.
