I think a key defining aspect of the Republicans today is : the ends justify the means.
That may not have been true for Republicans of the Eiesenhower or even the Nixon era but it was from Reagon on.

And sadly i am convinced that more than half the American electorate is ignorant by choice. Media may be a big reason for our dumbing down.

When we refer to web-cast in Finland it usually means that there is a video link, not just audio.

I am already tuned in to the audio. Otherwise, being from outside America, I get knocked off if there is a heavy local load when the show starts.

It is 10 pm here and I usually get to bed (in my attic) at about midnight with my headphones on which picks up the wireless sudio from my Mac in my cellar!!

Anyone have Guy rocking you to sleep!!

Weekdays it is Randy who goes on till 2 am local time.

I wake up in time for Mike Malloy at 5 am. And Monday morning it is in time for Peter Werbe.

Guy is certainly one of the very best.

I wish Air America would pick him up for their "dead" weekend broadcasts by giving him an extra 3 hours on Sunday.

Was arrested for inciting a riot after neither crowd would accept us into their ranks. The cops said leave or be arrested. When I asked IF we were in America and asked do we have a first amendment ensuring our freedom of speech I was slammed to the ground and cuffed - TO THE CHEERS OF BOTH CROWDS.

I was (and still am) TOTALLY disgusted.

I've seen more provacative anti Castro signs at demonstrations in Cuba with no arrests. But not here in America, any more.

I hate to think there was no tolerance as we know there is corruptiion on both sides BUT saying that I will say this. Passions were high at that time and it was minor civil war then and still is.
You said you were dressed as repukes and carrying B/C signs, so you were the enemy back then. It was wrong to cheer on the cops but the paid rioters helped that because they knew you weren't with them. They did not come to your defense. Because you were not WITH them. The dems did not know you were not with them trying to hurt them more. Thats the only thing I can ses in any reason for that happening. Repukes probably tipped off the cops as instigators and the dems didn't know that you were not repukes. You appeared to be. Does that make sense? I was surprised someone was not killed during that time.

Campaign mail with a return address of the Republican National Committee (news - web sites) warns West Virginia voters that the Bible will be prohibited and men will marry men if liberals win in November.

The literature shows a Bible with the word "BANNED" across it and a photo of a man, on his knees, placing a ring on the hand of another man with the word "ALLOWED." The mailing tells West Virginians to "vote Republican to protect our families" and defeat the "liberal agenda."


Republican National Committee Chairman Ed Gillespie said Friday that he wasn't aware of the mailing, but said it could be the work of the RNC. "It wouldn't surprise me if we were mailing voters on the issue of same-sex marriage," Gillespie said.


The flier says Republicans have passed laws "protecting life," support defining marriage as between a man and a woman and nominate conservative judges who will "interpret the law and not legislate from the bench." It does not mention the names of the presidential candidates.

About 15 protesters gathered for two hours today outside the home of John O'Neill, a Houston attorney who co-wrote "Unfit for Command," a new book that questions Democratic presidential nominee John Kerry's military service.

"Who in their right mind would attack a veteran who actually volunteered to go to Vietnam?" protester John Cobarruvias asked. "Attacking a veteran who went to war, who got shot at, is wrong."

O'Neill wasn't home Saturday because his daughter was getting married. In a statement, he said he thought it would have been more appropriate for protesters "to read the book and then engage in a civil debate over its contents."

The protesters chanted and carried signs reading "Not so swift liar lives here" and "AWOL liar Bush attacks veterans." They referred to the controversy over the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth's television ad criticizing Kerry's military record and the questions about President Bush's time in the National Guard.
