KERRY KICKED shr*b BUTT ON LETTERMAN!!
That was just the pick-me-up I think we all needed after a very doom-and-gloom week.

He did a great job explaining his plan for the next four years, discussing issues intelligently, but not at a level that would be over the audience's head. He definitely explained both his vote to authorize the use of force in Iraq, and his vote against the 87 Billion funding (explaining that most of it had gone to Halliburton--that was powerful!). He got a couple of great digs in, but nothing too nasty; and the top ten was excellent.

Overall, he came across as intelligent, candid, funny, and likable. It was perfect.

I think Dave was prepping him for the debates, and Kerry definitely showed that he is ready...

No reason to despair, DUers!

1. Damn. I forgot to tape it.
I'm at work so I won't be able to watch it.

Sounds like he did great! Of course he did!

3. Oh, it was just so satisfying
I'm sure Dave will make sure it gets played again before the election.

It's great to have the funny guys on our side.

16. And Howard Stern.
People forget who Howard sterns audience is and how massive it is.

There isn't a Joe Sixpack left voting for Bush.

Limpballs ditto heads are few and far between.

12. lol, that was just about my favorite part of the interview
except for the top ten, and the part where he talked about what needs to be done in Iraq, and the part where...OK, the whole thing rocked.

8. Yeah, and Dumbya is just an easy target too - he hasn't done anything
right. I'm glad Kerry is realizing that Dumbya is just such an idiot that you need to hit him from dawn 'til dusk. Dumbya has lying cheating smarmy sleaze balls around him telling him what to say all the time, but they can't keep up if Kerry just tells the truth. THE TRUTH SHALL SET YOU FREE! lol

11. It reminded me when Bubba played the Sax on Arsenio
John K was really really good on Letterman - really good.

He was relaxed, sharp witted, and on message.

His presentation of the Top 10 was delicious!

The only issue that he needs to work on before the debates is the answer to the $87 Billion Dollar Question.

He needs to say that he did vote for it, but the Bush Admin threatened to Veto it and leave it at that.

Otherwise, it was a very strong showing. If he can keep this demeanor up, he will appeal greatly to that critical younger voter.

13. Definitely
I'm one of those young voters...

Of course most of the kids at my college are voting for Kerry anyway...I'm working on the ones that aren't.

I think it was great that he mentioned how the $87 bil has been misspent, and brought Halliburton into the mix. Of course, I know that Kerry proposed a bill that would have payed for the $87 bil by removing the tax cuts on the wealthy, but if he makes his case that way, Bush will just spin it, you know, the whole "I voted for it before I voted against it" sort of trash.

18. Frequent, Enthusiastic applause and laughter
The people were very definitely supportive--so much so that, at one point, Kerry actually said "We didn't pick this audience,"--to which the audience responded with more applause and laughter.

He did a great job, and the audience just enhanced the whole experience.
