1. It's not just that the US govt. props up Arab dictatorships, but

that our laws allow private US security companies to protect Arab dictatorships.

8. It was debated in Congress in the 1970s whether it was proper

for private US security firms to be protecting the monarchy of Saudi Arabia, and while some Congress members wanted to outlaw that, nothing was ever passed.

If al Q. wanted to severely damage the USA they could have done so. The oil facilities and pipe lines in Arabia are not that difficult to blow up. Al Q. is not intent upon destroying the economy of Arabia or the USA. They want all Western domination of the ME to cease but not at the expense of destoying their own domains.
