1. Where do you get this ridiculous information?
Edited on Fri Aug-22-03 05:36 PM by w4rma
Btw, I just finished listening to a recently recorded MP3 of Dean being interviewed by a self-proclaimed "hardcore Republican" Clear Channel talkshow host.

More Dean:

16. The source of this "ridiculous information"
I am sorry if we Clark people are a little too plugged in and too organized, but hey we are inspired and we work hard!

Does CBS know something we don’t know? They called him 2004 Presidential Candidate General Wesley Clark!

SUNDAY ON FACE THE NATION

Bob Schieffer moderates.

As the conflict in Iraq continues to heat up the question at the forefront of everyone's minds is...do we need more troops in Iraq? Among the guests joining us in this discussion will be 2004 Presidential Candidate General Wesley Clark.

About 3/4 of the way down the page.

3. Why is Clark showboating?
I mean, if he's too scared to declare, aren't all these brave TV appearances just some weird attempt at self adulation?

5. The funny thing about the MTP interview
Edited on Fri Aug-22-03 05:40 PM by khephra
Is that it's been shown that Rumsfeld gave almost the exact same "inexact" numbers that Dean gave which everyone jumped on him about.

And...

it's that week that Dean broke all sorts of fundraising goals despite what the pundits said about how that appearance finished off Dean.

10. you're right MTP was the turning point for the Dean campaign
The pundits were writing his political obituary saying things like "I don't see how any candidate can survive after that" but Dean carried on and sharpened his attack on Bush and the $$ from backers on the internet in small amounts kept coming in--we told the pundits they couldn't decide this election.

7. Dean did well on MTP.
Though Dean did lose the spin to O'Reilly and his political opponents. Why do you think Dean's fundraising went through the roof after that performance?

Dean has been sticking his neck out on the foreign policy issue for months. People pronounce him dead over and over again while he blows the other campaigns out of the water.

9. Dean-bashing is a dumb tactic. Also, rude
What's the point, snyttri? Will any Dean supporters be won over? Will anyone who's not committed be impressed?

12. looks like Synttri edited it so that it is more respectable
but still that is not the case--all of our candidates have been willing to take hostile fire from the media--it is just Clark's turn now that he is thinking of jumping into the race.

14. Ohferpete's sake. . .
I like Wesley Clark, I plan on watching Wesley Clark on MTP, I think Wesley Clark would be an excellent candidate, I think Wesley Clark deserves to be heard. I love Wesley Clark's smile and think he's a snappy dresser,

I can say all those things, while supporting Dean.
AND AT THE SAME TIME!!!!!!

Newsflash! You can promote your guy WITHOUT trashing other peoples'!

Don't we get enough of the "you're for us or agin us" stuff from *? If Clark runs and wins the nomination, doncha kinda hope that all those Dean activists with their willingness to donate and work and vote will hop on board?

If so, then, pssssst. . .don't piss 'em off.

17. In the spirit of intra-Democratic kumbaya...
... let me point this out: When Clark was asked about Dean's supposed gaffe in the MTP interview -- his allegedly not knowing the size of the armed forces -- he said that it wasn't a gaffe at all and that Dean's response had been in the ballpark. Given a chance to bash, he refrained. So. Go thou and do likewise.

I'm pretty sure there's a transcript around too, but I can't remember at the moment which TV appearance it was. It was several weeks ago.
