10. "family values"
A buzzword none of them can manage to define but which they all claim. As far as I can tell it means men are kings, women and children are property, to be discarded at will with no support from either the king or state; pregnancy and childbirth are to be forced, and if they occur outside of wedlock to be severely punished; any sexuality outside the norm of hetero marriage between people of the same ethnic background is to be severely punished; and all of these things only apply to other people, never to oneself.

3. fiscal responsibility
small government
less regulations on business
no regulations on morality

basically the goverment's job is to fix the roads and protect the borders. that is the tired and true values of the "old" GOP

It was all about keeping the government out of personal affairs

Slavery, misogyny, segregation, torture, gay bashing...

Did I cover them all?

(To be fair, this only applies to people like Ashcroft and Box Turtle guy)

7. Which ReDefintion Do You Want?
The 1920's Tea Pot Dome Version?
The 1930's Depression version?
The 1950's McCarthy version?
The 1960's Richard Nixon version?
The 1970's Pat Robertson version?
The 1980's Jerry Falwell/Lee Atwater version?
The 1990's Newt Gingrich version?
The 2000's Karl Rove version?

Their values only come in demoninations with the pictures of dead presidents on them...they want it all, you get nothing, you pay for it and they don't.

Repugnican values glorify the selfish, ignorant and intolerace. All other description of "values" is a total fabrication.

9. If you think about it...

The people through popular mandate rejected both Bush and Ashcroft, and yet somehow they now run the country.

Kinda defies logic eh?

Or, perhaps that is what typifies far-right values in a nutshell?

12. The Underlying Theme...
"...don't worry, we know what's best for you..."

Look at how the wingnuts are so lock-step with anything this regime says and when attacked they play sanctimonious pious assholes almost by Pavlov reflect. No thinking needed, ever.

There are those who need a certain world...of pure black and whites. They want to know how they got here, where they're going and whose protecting them. The GOOP plays to those fears in spades now.

11. True Conservatives
Edited on Tue Aug-03-04 06:58 PM by Bernardo de La Paz
True conservatives are conservationists.
They are for fiscal responsibility and against ballooning deficits.
They are against sending US troops overseas for unnecessary wars.
They are for protecting the Constitution and against ABC agencies (think Ashcroft-Bush-Cheney Patriot Act).

Doesn't matter what you call them. Peel them away from the Boosh base.
