Most Obnoxious Freeper Tics
What are the most obxnious "tics" that Freepers are hier to? What bothers you the most?

For me, it has to be when the nuts say, "I can't take it when those liberal freaks criticize MY President--who do they think they are, ragging on MY leader."

The personal attachment is a little too close, almost like we were criticizing said Freeper's wife instead of the unelected clown.

1. Using the word "Democrat" outside it's proper grammar.
Example: "The Democrat party is the party of socialism."

It's DemocratIC! It's the DemocratIC party that supports the DemocratIC candidate Kerry.

6. They do it on purpose, you know.
It's the same reason they tried to re-name French Fries... they knew it was stupid & petty, but they did it anyways to bother Liberals.

2. They are in denial
You could give them enough information to make anyone believe that Bush is an a hole, but they'd deny it.

9. The idea that someone homeless or in poverty **chooses** that condition...
As in, "Hell, why don't these bums work for a livin', just like I do?"

They seem blind to the fact that a vast number of Americans are simply one paycheck away from serious trouble. They also ignore the cutbacks in mental health care that have occurred under right-wing government. So many who need care and medication have simply been abandoned by society and dumped out in the street.

Freepers are overly concerned that a few of their tax pennies might actually go to help someone homeless or in poverty {"liberal handouts"}, while the vast percentage of their taxes go toward financing the war machine.

The broader blindness at work in the freeper mind is the loss of a sense of doing anything for the greater good of society -- in the mind of the freeper, it all comes down to #1.

14. Two Things
One, the way they smugly declare that anyone who is poor is lazy or somehow "lacking in character."

Two, the way they call us DemocRATs...like that...doing the caps thing on the RAT.

24. Did you know where that comes from?
There was a pro-Bush ad in the 2000 campaign, it showed the words "D E M O C R A T S" scrolling across an image of Al Gore. It didn't scroll smoothly, but did so in fits and starts, with the word "R A T S" being the only thing showing across Al's face at one point.

Some Gore campaign people complained about it, and the Freepers laughed at them. They've used it ever since. I've lurked there for a long time, but the other tic that they have that has driven me crazy is their rampant homophobia. Nobody there could give me (or any one of a tiny handful of moderate posters) a non-religious reason for opposing gay marriage, other than "its always been done this way".

17. The hypocrisy on motherhood
Moms should stay home to raise their kids because it supports traditional family values...

unless the mom happens to be poor and black, then she needs to get off her lazy welfare collecting ass and get a job!

fuckers!

19. The way Joe Sixpack always seems to think he's the vice, vice-president.
It's so weird the way these beta boys align themselves with men who chew them up for dinner and shit them out for dessert, believing despite all evidence to the contrary that if they were in Washington they would be, like, third in the chain of command or something.

Whether it is labor issues, or military issues, these blue-collar men are getting fcked up the ass with a broom handle, yet, they seem to really believe that their republican alpha men are working for their best interests... How can they be so tragically stupid for such a long period of time? Is it male nature to always identify with the winning team, some kind of survival instinct?

22. The way they selfishly and greedily want to
try to accumulate wealth, instead of giving their money up to the common good of all through tax cuts. Sure most of them would benefit from free health care, better schools and a guaranteed minimum wage--but they are too selfish, greedy and short sighted to give up the amount of money needed to achieve these things.

23. The fact that they're so damned uninformed
They'll go into intricate detail about their "knowledge" of polls, political issues, etc., but when it comes to something so "out there" like facts about their own hero, Ronald Reagan and his family – his first marriage, which children belong to whom – things one would be expected to know about their idol. I never liked the guy, but I've read books on him. It just blows me away on how ignorant they are and how much they rely on myth or just plain making things up to win an argument.

I was reading a thread on Elian Gonzales over there and they were making outrageous claims that have absolutely no basis – such as Juan Gonzales not being Elian's father, never having any contact with him since his birth – one even said that Elian's father never set foot on American soil – just stupid things they want to believe for whatever reason. or that simply fits their ideology, true or not.

Then there's the spelling: "hugh" for huge, "series" for serious, and on and on.

25. The spelling is a joke
A few freepers spelled those words wrong, and it became kind of a running joke over there. Its actually a way of putting a previous poster down, sort of like if I repeated your words back to you in baby talk, or a valley girl accent, for instance.
