Gallup to release new poll tomorrow at noon

Although I am very happy being up 8 points in the Newsweek poll. My problem with the Newsweek poll is, on Thursday the one day poll before Kerry's speech Newsweek had the poll at 49-47 Kerry, on Friday after the speech the one day poll was Kerry 54-41. They averaged the two days together to get 52-44 Kerry. I am sure if Newsweek didn't rush this poll out and would of polled one more day, you would have seen a 8-10 point bounce.

1. Kerry did not get a bounce

And that will be big news. It will also indicate that most Americans have all ready made up their minds on how to vote in this election, which won't be reported.

The lack of a bounce will be reported on as a weakness for Kerry, the lack of one for Bush-Cheny after the Republican Attack on NYC (to make an extended commercial) will be seen as "voters having all ready made up their minds."

2. Say what you want

But being up 8 points is awful sweet. Also I want to see a few more polls before I declair if there was a bounce. Gallup polled Friday and Saturday. If there numbers reflect Newsweeks Friday numbers than Kerry will likely have an 8-10 point bounce. Newsweek polling Thursday was worthless because it was before Kerry answered many people's questions about him. Even Bill Schneider said it takes a few days to tell if you got a bounce because most people dont watch the speech and will hear about it on TV and at the water cooler.
