2. Bill Clinton said right there that he was going to enact welfare reform.
Welfare should be a second chance, not a way of life.

3. This is an amazing acceptance speech.
The energy in that building is tangible.

"There is no them, there is only US."

the three years of Bush II feel like the 12 years of Bush I and Reagan.

Same issues and themes. Almost exactly.

Remarkable listening to his goals...and how so many actually were fulfilled:
Family leave
Environmental stuff (all those parks created, no threatened by Bushco)
Full committment to choice (no mealy mouth crap)
The budget and handling the deficit
Jobs at home (Strength begins at home)
Community service (later called Americorps)

Called for healing America, it was too divided. "We need each other."
"We've nearly THEM'd ourselves to death. There is no them, there is only us." (Obama was listening?)

"He took the richest country on earth and took it down. Arkansas, the poorest state, we lifted it up....."come on down......"

WE CAN DO IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

He did, too.

And you can see why they hated him. He came from outside their social clique and thought outside the box.

6. "He took the richest country in the nation and brought it down."
We took the poorest state in the country and lifted it up.

I have to say, for the most part the man said what he was going to do and he did it.

8. This is a powerful speech.
In America no one is left out, no one is left behind.

Let it be our cause that we give this child a country coming together, not coming apart.

9. "I still believe in a place called Hope"
just saying that in itself had so much power and positive feeling than anything gwbush has done in his entire time in office.

10. Gore speech on now........boy, was he a cutie!!
Can help but think what a leap of faith voters took with these two young men....they were ready to do it and they did it!

Now, are people ready to break away from the ossified and fearful present? Are Democrats offering people something worth leaping for?????
