But MSNBC/CNN has taken to calling him in to do "pop culture/political" commentary. Some night's he's "on" and other night's he's not "on". When he had the writers of The Daily Show to back him up, he was almost always LMAO funny.

Just like some SNL people. He needed a few more seasons of being on the air every weeknight before moving on. His first show after TDS was The Smoking Gun which didn't even last a full season, iirc.
