Just saw the Ah-null campaign commercial.
The guy just doesn't come across as being very friendly-no smiling or otherwise friendly demeanor.

Not a good campaign ad at all, not very convincing. All that publicity just might backfire.

1. Good production values though?
I'm imagining that its a shiny well produced moment of film, no?

5. Shiny and glossy indeed, but unfriendly.

Its like the guy's talking down to you, comes off as being very arrogant. I wouldn't feel comfortable talking to him in person if that's how he acted towards me. I personally don't mind him too much but this is gonna tank his public image if they keep running the ad.

3. All publicity...
...no real style or substance. Just another marketing campaign for yet another shitty movie...and we all know his comedies are the worst, and this recall is nothing if not a comedy.

7. Is this the one where he says ...
"Remember, Sully ... when I promised not to raise your taxes?"

(drop)

"I lied"

8. I heard excerpts on NPR tonite...
Salvador Dali and Luis Bunuel collaborating could not come up with something weirder than this, because listening to this guy talk about policy is excrutiating! Maybe we are Rome incarnate, and elections are our circus!
Hasta la vista, baby!

10. does anyone else suspect that arnold is trying to lose?
he's doing a lot of stuff that no competent campaign manager would approve of. cmon, no matter how out of touch Arnie is, he can afford consultants who will make him look good in the ads.

11. Let's not forget
Arnold has only been speaking English since age 20, so he's forgiven for not sounding completely silky smooth. Al Gore was accused of something similar, wasn't he?
I think it would be foolish to overlook all Arnold has accomplished. He grew up dirt poor and came to America to become a huge success. It is really the classic Horatio Alger story..Something that I think will play well to disgruntled people in California. I think it would be a grave mistake to underestimate the drive and intelligence of this man. He is very progressive on a number of issues. Grey has had his chance and things haven't really gone all that well. Maybe Arnold's drive is just what California needs.

12. Apparently you haven't heard that Arnold's girly
exploits could make Clinton blush? I wonder why the party of family values would want someone who has so much verifiable adultery and other sexual exploits as a candidate?

13. I think Arnold's shenanigans were all pre-Maria
I don't think his old bodybuilding-era escapades will hurt him. We live in a climate where the past unmarried sex doesn't matter all that much to most people.

14. He is a republican
And considering the current state of the republican party, that's all I would need to know to scratch him off my list.
