HELP!!!! Looking for presentation device.

For the past four years I have been at a little alternative school within Hampton City Schools... we had all kinds of technology to use any time.
Next year I am going to a larger, more "undernourished" public school that doesn't have the tech budget. I need to find one of those cheap "projectors" (they are usually yellow) that one hooks to one's computer then is placed on the overhead... allowing it to actually do all of the projecting.
I can't afford one of those fancy multimedia or new LED projectors... so i'm looking to go old school.
What the hell are they actually called?
does anyone here work in office supplies?

2. Bummer! they're all for PCs (my system does MAC)...

at least now I know what they're called: PANEL VIEWERS.

3. Does the mac really have a different video-out connector?

That makes no sense, the whole monitor industry would be affected.

(im sure there are adapters if the mac is different)
