what was the sexiest scene I ever saw in the movies. In my estimation the very best was the scene in "The Summer of '42" when Jennifer O'Neill playing a woman who just learns of her husband's death in a distant war reaches for the arms of a young boy and awakens his sexuality.Jennifer O'Neill was superb in that scene and even though the scene was not explicit, the sexuality remains vivid in my mind to this day after so many years. By the way anyone know whatever happened to Jennifer O'Neill?

The second scene from A POSTMAN ALWAYS RINGS TWICE has Jack Nicholson
playing a drifter who senses the frustration of Jessica Lange who is married to an old restaurant owner and wants to take her at the first opportunity. When the husband leaves on a long errand, the drifter corners the wife in the kitchen and to his surprise,the wife after putting up a token resistance, challenges him to take her on the kitchen table! The suppressed intensity of Jessica Lange and the devilish delight in Jack Nicholson's face made the scene for me.

I am sure others may have different ideas of what constitutes great sexual scenes in movies but for me these two are the tops.

1. The Hairdresser's Husband

She's shampooing a client (male) in her barber shoppe...his eyes are closed and he is totally into the scalp massage deriving sexual pleasure from it...her husband is in the barber chair behind her as she massages the client's scalp and reaches under her dress and is massaging her....they all reach climax...of course the next scene, she runs out of the shoppe jumps into the storm drain and commits suicide so that kind of ruins it...but far and away one of the most erotic scenes ever.

4. The scene from The Way We Were

where Katie (Barbra Streisand)gets in the bed with high school (deep) crush Hubbell Gardner (Robert Redford)after he crashes in her bed from a late night of drinking. May not sound very sexy, you have to watch it.

And the scene where Hubbell ties Katies shoe after getting her to cross the street. Great.

Many sexy scenes in that film.

5. I suddenly remembered the scene in BODY HEAT

after reading the previous post about Lana Turner.In Body Heat it was Kathleen Turner who plays a scheming married woman who lures William Hurt an attorney into killing her husband for her.The scene in which she sexually traps Hurt is a classic.He is chasing her in his car and she goes into her mansion while he is standing outside looking at her through a glass window.All of a sudden he couldn't stand the suspense and has to have her.He takes a chair breaks the window pane and opens the door and takes her.The combination of violence, sexual trap being set for this poor guy and the temptress who pulls it off was a one-of-kind scene.
