I despise Juan Williams
He's on NPR sucking Reagan's cold dick.
Sorry to be so crude, but I couldn't think of any other way to put it.

Ignorance is forgivable, as is immaturity and naivite. Juan Williams can't hide behind any of those. He knows better, yet does it anyway. He is loathsome.

1. NPR
Stands for "Now Promoting Reagan".

They are falling all over themselves in tribute.

Sickening isn't it?

4. I heard most of what I think you're talking about
Edited on Thu Jun-10-04 07:53 AM by buycitgo
two Reagan apologists, of whom Williams asked some questions, without disputation

but he ended with Roger Wilkins, who REAMED his programs up one way and down the other

I didn't hear the whole thing, but Wilkins was VERY damning, much moreso than he was last night on Lehrer

Williams usually is very Brian Lamblike when interviewing, I've noticed.....doesn't rock the boat of his subjects

he does get into it with that slob Britt Hume, though

3. Juan is black, isn't he? How can he close his eyes to what happened
to them under Reagan? How can all the people THAT KNOW WHAT REAGAN WAS keep on doing this?
There was a thread in DU by a Jazz DJ for a public affairs radio station that was absolutely conflicted by the orders gotten from above about what kind of MUSIC he had to transmit every hour on the hour to inspire people to idolize RR. Juan, apparently, IS NOT CONFLICTED AT ALL.

5. I read that thread........pretty sad story about the DJ
if he didn't have to do stuff like that all the time, it might be bearable, but it sounds like he's going to run into little incidents like that all the time

surprised they even play classical music there, in the first place

flame away, crackers!

7. Did we hear the same broadcast?
It seemed to me he had guests on that slammed Reagan. The historian guest brought up the fact that Reagan did a campaign stop in Philadelphia, MS (the town where the civil rights workers were murdered) and championed "state's rights". Campaigning using code words for racism turned off the black voters to Reagan. This same guy went on to talk about Reagan's abusive policies to social programs and calling people on welfare derogatory names.

10. you heard what I heard
that was Roger Wilkins, former civil rights hero, now professor at George Mason U., a mostly very RW college just outside DC, in Fairfax county, VA

that thing about Philadelphia particularly disturbs me

I went there about ten years ago, and tried to find the spot where Schwerner, Chaney, and Goodman were killed

not ONE person I talked to knew where it was.......they were very nice, but didn't want to get into that

really amazing that he had the effrontery to begin his campaign there.
what a desPICable message to start out with

nauseating
