I CAN'T believe the whoring I just saw on O'Reilly
I have not taken any happiness in the death of former president Ronald Reagan. To die after a long battle with Alzheimer's is a essentially a slow wasting away of mind and body. My own grandmother went through this just over a decade ago. I didn't like his politics but I will not celebrate his death.

But what I just saw on FAUX has the absolute pinnacle of RW media whoring.

I caught a few seconds of Bill O'Reilly chit chatting with Newt Gingrich, perhaps he should change his name to 'lizard' or 'snake'.
The statement made was that the Iranians released the hostages due to the fact they did not want to 'face' Ronald Reagan.

What a f_____g crock!

I was only 13 years old when Reagan took office, but one name still raises questions about the circumstances of the release of the hostages. William Casey. Does anybody remember him? Died before he could be questioned for Iran/Contra. Former CIA director. Worked on Reagan's 1st campaign and for reasons still unknown didn't seem to be there alot. I do believe there was one former Carter admin official who smelled a rat with regards to he hostages release just after Reagan took office.

It makes you want to go on a rampage!

Sorry, I just had to vent that!

1. That is the long time standard line on that
I've heard it since the day of the inauguration. On TV that day, everywhere else since.

seriously---I was 21 that day so I was watching and remembering.

4. You nailed it.
The latest one I've heard is that the war on drugs was a resounding success. "Just Say No! really worked" according to Elizabeth Dole and Chris Matthews.

I went to school in the 80s. Even the nerds and squares thought Just Say No! was a joke.

3. So how should we talk about the October Surprise . . . .
in a way that people, who don't know what you know, can understand?

I've just been reading about "framing" at http://www.rockridgeinstitute.org/

I think we are going to get another October Surprise real soon. We need to talk this up in a way that works.

9. We may still get THREE more
With the Conveniently Timed Death of Raygun meaning that Phase I commenced so early (although they maybe were trying to keep him alive another month or two, and he wouldn't comply, so to speak), I still wonder what next they have in store for us...

8. Yep
It's like when Big Brother convinced the entire crowd that Oceana had really been at war with another nation the entire time during Hate Week.

That's what Faux News reminds me of.

10. Convenient Memory Lapses
O'Reilly said that the War on Terror actually started under Reagan. I suppose that both he and Newt forgot that the Reagan Administration traded weapons to Iran for the release of Americans who were being held hostage by terrorists.

Some beginning to the War on Terror, huh?
