4. two of my favorite people
Amy Goodman is amazing, her interview of Clinton was quite eye-opening. And of course without BevHarris, we'd never have another fair election again.

10. Where can I hear the Clinton interview? (Oh, and I heard Bev
without even trying...I turned on my radio and caught this...that's a good sign -- it means this is seeping out to the world--cool.

By the way, I didn't like the rice professors solution: touch screen that prints paper ballot and then shreds it or drops it into box if it's what you want. Sounds too complicate. Why can't you just have optical scan which retains the ballot if it's good/kicks it out for correction if it's spoiled, and recounts for any reason.

Bev, Last night I got into an extensive conversation/complaint session with a couple who knew all about BBV, but had never heard of DU! It was nice to see it getting around outside of our little circle

11. Hurray, Bev and Dan! And Amy! Listen to the archived version anytime
If you have sound capability on your computer, listen! It's archived!

It's a sixteen-minute interview, you all sounded great!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Three soundbites:
Dan Wallach, of the Hopkins/Rice team study of the Diebold software:
Another thing, we were looking at just the overall quality of the software engineering. Is there any evidence in the code that these people knew what they were doing when they were developing it. What we saw was very disturbing to us.. We saw a code that wasn't even of such a quality that you would even consider making a video game this way. I mean, the code was not written in a professional fashion. And, that's kind of scary to us.
Bev Harris :
What we need to understand is that elections have been tampered with for 2000 years. If you have a bank, you need to figure out how to protect yourself against bank robbers -- it's part of the deal. Given that we've moved to a new electronic system, we have to figure out how to protect it. We've still got the same flawed human nature ...Whenever there is a vulnerability, somebody will try to exploit that system. The Diebold system is pretty riddled with flaws.
Amy Goodman, in the close to the story:
And that's not the end of our discussion, it's just the beginning!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Way to go, gang! That went out to 160 stations!
