INCOMPETENT - The keyword message to defeat Bush
This is about advertizing and marketing of candidates. The assumption is to get a message into the puny minds of the voting public. This is done by word association - and - the smaller the message the better.

Bush is doing this to Kerry - the message:

Kerry = Flip Flop

So - Kerry needs to do the same thing to Bush. My suggestion:

Bush = Incompetent

Nancy Pelosi and Al Gore have started on this path. I think it's a winner. So - my question is - what do you think? Do you like this or is there other / better marketing phrases out there. Remember - the target audience is the stupid voter - so - short and simple is required.

Bush's strong point - according to polls is terror. The INCOMPETENT message undermines this. In appealing to FEAR we need to make the point that having someone who is COMPETENT = more safety.

Other slogans in addition:

It's about the economy stupid.
It's about the future stupid.

Precede or substitute the word Bush...use the phrase:

This lying president
This failed president
This detested president
This flip-flopping hypocritical...
Our stupid president

26. Fire the liar.
The entire world knows that Bush is the most compulsive and incessant liar in the history of American politics.

Bush claimed that John McCain has an illegitimate Negro daughter and Bush said he would veto McCain-Feingold and the yawning boy was not there and was not yawning and besides he was standing some place else and Richard Clarke had complete access to Bush and Rice which proves that Clarke was out of the loop which is Clinton's fault but Clarke briefed the press on background about Bush fighting terrorism which means that unnamed White House sources may not be identified even when Bush wants to even if they criminally reveal the identity of a covert CIA employee and everyone except Bush himself knows where he was during his National Guard service but it was Clinton's fault that Bush did not show up for duty which was after Bush volunteered to go to Viet Nam but before he was no longer required to take a flight physical and about the same time that God ordered him to smite Saddam because the 60 lines of embryonic stem cells and more arsenic in the water and more mercury in the air prove that republican science is better than sound science and the Bush administration did not illegally conspire to illegally reveal the identity of a covert CIA operative which resulted in 2 million new jobs being created because democrats support terrorism and are not good Americans just as the Jews were not good Germans which is why Bush said he would veto the creation of both the Department of Homeland Security and the 9/11 Commission but now claims credit for their creation and the White House is cooperating with the 9/11 Commission which is why the White House withheld documents and called the republicans on the Commission before Clarke testified and why the White House is not coordinating the attacks on the integrity and bipartisanship of the Commission since the dental xrays prove that Bush spoke with the CIA director everyday and did not ignore either the repeated warnings of the dangers of al Qaeda and Osama or the August 2001 intelligence briefing specifically warning of the upcoming 9/11 attacks because the United States is a nation with a mission and that mission is to bring freedom to every single person in the world which will cut the deficit in half if you do not count those parts of the deficit which will increase under Bush which is Clinton's fault but the boxes from China were labeled "Made in USA" which resulted in 2.6 million new jobs being created even though the $400 billion decorative Medicare turkey was not labeled $550 billion and was passed without bribery or criminal deception and was not criminally promoted by the Bush administration using taxpayers' money which proves that government spending under Bush has gone down if you do not count the increased government spending under Bush which is Clinton's fault and Bush's plane to Baghdad was spotted because before Saddam bought the uranium and became an urgent but not an imminent threat which is Clinton's fault Bush had no plans on his desk to invade Iraq since the invasion was not planned before Bush took office even though it was the subject of his first national security council meeting and in December 2001 when plans for the invasion were being finalized Bush said he was focused on the military operations in Afghanistan and then the aircraft carrier was too far offshore for the Navy to make a large enough "Mission Accomplished" banner to describe the WMD we have found in Iraq some of which Saddam was giving to Osama for following Saddam's plans and using Iraqi hijackers on 9/11 which is Clinton's fault but everyone who pays income taxes got a tax cut which created 3 million new jobs and allowed Iraqi oil revenue to pay for the cost of the reconstruction of Iraq after the invasion by a small number of troops who would be greeted with floral program related activities except for the dead and wounded troops who are being brought home secretly which is Clinton's fault since Bush is the one who hugs the mothers and the widows and the wives and the kids and since Bush does not watch television news he did not know about the republican torture pranks occurring in Iraq until he saw the pictures while watching television news and that is why Bush who will use the jawbone of an ass to force OPEC to open the spigots and who is responsible for good economic numbers but not bad economic numbers which are Clinton's fault wrote the poem that he did not write blaming Laura for dropping the dog.

I would offer other examples of Bush's dishonesty but the heavy rains have loosened the topsoil on my keyboard.

There is no subject so somber, serious, or shallow that Bush will not lie about it. The only other option is not to lie. And that apparently is something Bush can not do.

Ridiculing Bush for his compulsive and incessant lying needs to become common.

FIRE THE LIAR

7. Bush supporters have no way to answer to "Incompetent"
Junior is incompetence. He is a walking disaster. Keep stressing it- because there is no denying it. Eventually it might sink in.

Everything he has done has made this planet and our existence on it worse than before he came on the scene. Intentional or not, he's killing us.

9. That's the message
If you say bush is incompetent and a repub disagrees then you can say: 9-11, WMD, Iraq, Economy, Environment, Jobs, Social Programs, Social Security, Hubble,Immigration, Patriot act, talking in coherent sentences... Can't admit he makes mistakes so he can't fix them. But a lot of people are upset about how he is such an embarrassment to the country as well. So bush is a lying incompetent embarassment.

10. Ha!
I hope you don't hang around the 'puny' little brained people of which you speak!

I think that is probably not the best way to approach your canidate advocacy.

Speaking positive about whom you favor would create a pool of listeners that *can* be persuaded.

Where as assosiating your 'opponent' to a negative termonology severly limits your ability to influence. In other words, as you state in your opening sentances, manipulation is a common tactic but it's a highly retarded tactic IMO.

The Republicans I hang around with are intelligent, thinking men and women who don't march in lockstep with the criminal drug addict WH mouthpiece Rush Limbaugh.

BTW, you might want to forward your post to the * campaign, which seems to be putting up nothing but negative Kerry ads.

Then again, I'm probably just talking to someone who will be tombstoned anyway.

13. Hard-headed?
INCOMPETENT is very good but too many don't believe that outright. We need to appeal to the ones sitting on the fence. Let's give them something they know is true but has a negative connotation and is in the same vernacular. "Hard-headed" springs to mind as do:

Absurd, Derisory, Preposterous, Scammer, Deceiver, Knave, or one that would be especially meaningful here in the deep South: Scalawag (or "scallywag").

Actually, Pres. Gore said it for me: How DARE they?

That will be my mantra until they are booted out:

Bush - How DARE he?
Neocons - How DARE they?
Patriot Act - How DARE they?
Torture - How DARE they?
Ashcroft - How DARE he?
etc. etc.

14. Just remind 'em that bush is running the country just like he ran three
Texas oil companies. Right into bankruptcy.

He's the same incompetent CEO he was with Harken Energy, Spectrum 7, and Arbusto Energy.

No slogans, I realize. But your point is great. And so true. Just remember Gephardt's words: Miserable Failure.

You can't spell War without dubya.

You can't spell Wimp without dubya.

You can't spell Wastrel without dubya.

You can't spell Weasel without dubya.

You can't spell Waffle without dubya.

You can't spell AWOL without dubya.

You can't spell WRONG without dubya. (Althought more than a few freepers with intellects the size of bush's probably won't get this one...)

22. I've been saying that, often
It's clear that it's an idea whose time has come. Everyone's saying it and it's true. The whole administration is incompetent and people are making that point, too. It's perfect because A. It's true. B. It's serious. This country has been badly damaged by the incompetence of Bush and his administration. C. It doesn't require anyone to dislike him. If people still find him a likeable guy, so be it. Doesn't mean he should be running the country and a lot of people are seeing that. It doesn't mean the voter has to do a complete flip-flop regarding character judgement either.

One thing this administration has illuminated for me is that we've had some very good people in office up to now. I've never been 100% happy with any administration. I always have complaints. When Republicans are in office I've usually been livid a lot of the time. I'm reassessing now. I had no idea that a few people could fuck up the US so completely in such a little time.

Because you're absolutely correct. A nauseatingly large number of people still think he's the guy they'd rather go have a beer with. Okay, fine. Feel that way if you must. But do you REALLY want this idiot running our country??? A GREAT line!

non presidential. How the hell do people really know they would rather hang out with him? The very ones who keep saying this will never get a chance to hang with the crowd he runs with anyway since they are nothing but scum to them only good for votes. It is all a media portrayed image. Why don't we hear some personal experiences of people who have hung out with him before and since his call to salvation talk about hanging out with him. Maybe one would slip up and tell the real story.

But I am hearing more and more people say Kerry is just like Bush on the war.

I'm also tired of hearing that Kerry can't get his message out and that he flip flops on everything. The undecided voter needs to know what Kerry is going to do for the country when it comes to terrorism and national defense.

Really, what is Kerry's plan besides go to the UN for help?
