16. I noticed. That's what she does. That's who she is. She will..

never change. It can be annoying though. Some people get turned off by adults who complain all the time. My ex-fiance was a complainer. Nice guy, but world class complainer. One night I turned off the light so that we could go to sleep. Do you think that stopped him from complaining? Nope. He said, 'damn, it sure is dark in here.'

4. Franken finally made an overture of friendship.

He asked her what she was doing for the holiday weekend,
and then asked her for her phone number.

She said she was intimidated by these famous people and
there was no way in hell she was going to make the first
move.

Good move, Al.

9. She actually said she was intimidated?
That's kinda sweet, given her tough-broad persona.

12. Go to White Rose and listen to her archived show
from yesterday. I think she said it some time in
the last hour, but don't quote me.

Also, I think it's on her message board. http://www.therandirhodesshow.com

8. i can only listen to her
for about a half hour every day. i just find her voice and whining about stuff too annoying. still...i'll admit she's a great talent and i can understand why a lot of people like her.

despite that, does anyone else think 3-7pm is too long for a show?

14. Keep Trying
It took me a while, but now I love her because she is smart and doesn't play too nice. She was stressing at the beginning of the show, but now seems to be settling in better.

18. I get really tired after 3 hours and about 58 minutes....whine, whine
Edited on Thu May-27-04 06:41 PM by robbedvoter
Seems to me that the ones accusing her of whining are doing all the bitching and moaning... The good news: you all listen. And you should.
There wasn't one major point in Gore's speech that Randi didn't emphasize on her show: the civilian contractors, the torture, the lies - EVERYTHING in crystal clear sound byte ready sentences.

20. I don't listen anymore
I got my belly full of her real quick. Have no desire to go back. I LOVE AAR, but can live without Randi. And probably as long as she's on, they'll have to live without me, which i assume is no problem.

Go, AAR!

19. I love Randi, except when she takes calls
I love Randi Rhodes, I think she's great. But she simply doesn't listen to callers, and she often misses the point. If she handled callers better she would be the absolute best radio talk show ever in history. She should have a co-host take callers, then do her routine (which is great).

It's not whining it's "the jungle" language.

22. Poor little Randi
she can't stand the fact that she's not a celeb like Franken or Garafalo.

It is really pathetic to listen to this woman build herself up by acting like she's close personal friends with people that she's merely met.

23. I've got a good friend who is like Randi
And I know I have two choices when "talking" with her:

- Go "mmhmm, mmhmm" and let her bitch
- Let her go on for awhile and then start teasing her till she laughs and lightens up (or starts cussing me out)

I can't tease Randi so I listen as long as I can, which is about an hour. I don't believe, though, that my level of tolerance should determine how long her program should run. She does a highly professional job of rousing the rabble; no other AAR host even comes near. I'm very happy to hear she is settling in.
