Edited on Thu May-27-04 12:27 PM by Richardo
...about DeLay and Norquist's vision for a one party state.

DeLay's gerrymandering effort up now.

6. My old company
My old company is a borderline Fortune 100 company. I think in 2002, they were in there, and in 2003, they were just outside the top 100.

But, prior to the 2002 mid-term elections, a memo went around to Management (at least 2 levels higher than me) basically saying that, "We suggest you use this pledge card to give to Republicans because it is better for our industry."

However, the pledge card is sent back through the company CEO and it was a running joke that if you wanted job security, you had better give, as Mr. CEO was making a list & checking it twice. Most told me the joke as I'm generally clean cut & quiet and keep my views to myself - not your typical wild hippie radical Democrat.

(This is a non-public company, so I don't know if it is legal or not - I'm sure it's not legal at a public one)

2. Do read "Banana Republicans"
Don't let the title mislead you; it's actually quite a serious book about the current state of play in politics and the media. Much of what's in it has been written elsewhere, but it's still a valid resource.

In addition, there are some painful (but valid) critiques of foibles of the progressive/liberal groups.

4. DAMMIT! I wish Katherine would manage the time better...
...she always just cuts people off with no warning. Usually when they are saying something crucial. This happens on O'Franken ALL THE TIME.

What's wrong with a 30 second warning? Even the RWers do that much :grr:

5. Heard him
this AM on Wisconsin Public Radio.

I am surprised that the callers didn't seem to know about Grover Norquist but maybe not everybody is as much of a political junkie like me.

I hope his book tour includes a stop on The Daily Show
