Rasmussen: Bush speech hurt him
Rasmussen comes up with their numbers by averaging polling totals of the previous 3 days of polling. Yesterday, 1 out of the 3 days was after Monday's speech; today, 2 out of 3. The trend is clearly positive for Kerry and negative for Bush*. Also, yesterday they released a poll that shows support for Bush*'s handling of Iraq further declining.

Today's numbers:

Kerry 47% Bush 44%
Congress: Dem 42% GOP 35%
Bush Job Approval: 49%

I seem to remember a time, not long ago, when Bush* would get in front of cameras and stumble his way through a speech or a press conference and his numbers would miraculously bounce. It seems that this effect has been inverted -- every time he opens his mouth, his numbers dip.

5. He gave a major primetime speech on "terra"
on Monday or Tuesday night of this week.

The networks didn't carry it, but the cable news channels did and all the pundits came out and sqawked about it for a while.

2. lately everytime Bush opens up his mouth on Iraq
he is losing support. If those numbers hold up on the congressional races we could see dems winning back both the house and senate.

3. That's What Happens When The Majority Now Look At You
with a critical eye. He's no longer getting the benefit of the doubt.

He has no choice. He has to start behaving competently in public or he's going to lose (barring cheating). He's incapable of behaving competently.

8. It is impossible to cover up a slovenly life.
- In other words, you can put lipstick on a pig, but it's still ugly (except to other pigs, of course). Bush has led a life of indolence and comfort. He lacks character and leadership. I am constantly astonished and appalled that he is the President of the United States of America.
- When Bush speaks, his stupidity and incompetence are clear to see. It was no surprise to me when his handlers severely limited his public speaking. Now that he is required to speak, as a last gasp to save the doomed cabal, he will hurt his cause even more.

11. Yup, They Can't Hide Him Away In a Closet
He has to be out there and unfortunately for him, the more he's out there, the more there's the chance he's going to do something outrageously stupid. He's not competent enough to be in the now extremely critical spotlight.

10. The twins are being dragged out....
to boost his ego...ratings. Single handed, Vanessa Kerry can kick their butts. The lushes, (mean bushes) have already demanding that press treat the twin drunks with respect. The arrogant spoiled drunk hoocheys are fair game. I'd gladly pay for their tequilla.
