Australia's pro-Bush PM Howard in trouble. Labour Party ahead in polls.

Another member of the Coalition of the "Willing" losing ground. Australia's John Howard and his Liberal Party are losing in the latest opinion polls in Australia. Elections are expected later on this year.

The Labour Party leader Mark Latham has a plan to "do a Zapatero" and bring Australian troops home by December.

I tend to get all happy with these sort of polls and then I remember what the Labor Pary stands for these days...privatisation and "free trade" sigh

6. we probably face the same situation as ous US friends..
latham and kerry may not deliver what we may desire..but i can no longer take any more howard or bush..i become a member of the labor party 3 years ago to push my own agendas of which many others on the left also pursue..first defeat the neo cons then push for change..

no matter how much I detest the ALP these days I can't see them using the "children overboard" lie to win an election.

The Pauline Hanson fans must LOVE the Howard govt. took almost their entire platform and ran with it

8. Whatever happened to Pauline Hanson?
She struck me as a bit of a lunatic. Am I correct in that assumption? A sort of female Australian version of Pat Buchanan.
