2. I feel quite a bit dumber having read that article
"Garnett has been at the center of controversy a few times this postseason. In the first round against Denver, Nuggets forward Francisco Elson called Garnett “gay” for hitting him in the groin during a game."

3. no, just typically stupid sports-as-war metaphor
Just a cliche:
give 110%
take one game at a time
the game is won in the trenches
its a war out there
leave it all on the court
blah blah woof woof

4. Wonder what the cross-reference KKK/NRA members think
about the legality of a black man with an Uzi?

5. Not even close to offensive
Anyone with half a brain knows Kevin Garnett can tell the difference between basketball and war. Just more right-wing fake outrage bullshit.

6. Weird.. so right-wingers were offended?
I thought they were all about gun-toting and bombs and such. I figured maybe the liberals would be offended on this one...

7. I found his apology somewhat insincere
as he was wearing a S.W.A.T. T-shirt. :eyes:

Garnett is a class act. The NBA would be well served to have half its atheltes be as decent of human beings as Kevin. He made a poor choice of words, but he did apoloigize. I thought the T-shirt was hilarious given the context.

If Shaq had said it it woulda been fine.

10. More foolish than offensive.
Athletes need to cease with their war/soldier rhetoric. It's just dumb. Sure they might make great warriors, but they aren't. The object of basketball (or any other sport) is not to kill your opponent.

Athletes should also stop taking themselves so seriously. IMHO, they should be all smiles, all the time. They get to play a GAME for a LIVING! Lighten up, fellas.
