Bush could be badly bruised by revolt in the White House
Edited on Mon May-24-04 12:11 PM by Skinner
(looks to me like he already has some bruises)

What is going on behind the building works that shroud Washington's most famous address? Weighing up the mood of the White House is the most standard of diversions for the city's elite.

But for Republicans it is no longer a matter for dinner party chat. President George W Bush prides himself on his corporate managerial approach to leadership. Yet some of his Republican "shareholders" are close to revolt. He took office with a pledge of unity. Yet venomous leaks are skewering his administration's record with deadly effect.

White House aides and Bush campaign staff of course dismiss talk of panic. But it is no longer just Democrats who say that if Mr Bush does not reassert control soon he will jeopardise not just the mission in Iraq but also his re-election campaign.

You know there is trouble in a campaign when the candidate's wife is wheeled out on prime time television. Remember Hillary Clinton in 1992, with her "Stand by your man" act, when Bill's candidacy seemed doomed by his latest injudicious affair?

1. Bush Had His Chance
We backed him after 9/11. Then he went ultra radical conservative.

The economy is NOT doing well. His created jobs average 17% less pay in wages than the jobs he lost. State and local taxes have never been higher nor gas prices.

Bush has been instrumental in changing this society to a class system; the poor to serve the needs of the rich.

He's killed our role of a world credible leader.

3. Bush's Good Economy is a Myth
That simple. Most people look at their income and then at their outgoing. There is no good economy except for upper income brackets. I had it explained that in all other recessions the government took the steps to see that the most vulnerable and low income workers would be protected to guarantee them the basics and that Bush chose to skip protection of our most needy.

13. Keep in mind the source...
... the Telegraph. This is the neo-con Republicans' unofficial voice in the UK. The whole message in this that, "glory be, you could actually sink if you don't tighten up the ship. Things are going great, the message is great, but you've got to get the messengers in line."

In a relatively quiet and disguised way, this is the neo-cons saying to Bush, you're going to fuck it up for all of us. Richard Perle doesn't sit on the board for nothing....

5. I don't think there is going to be a revolt in the White House
Perhaps in the CIA, FBI, State Department, or Senate, against Bush.

The White House is running things. The only revolt that should take place there is Bush firing all of his top advisors. And that ain't gonna happen because he doesn't have a fucking clue.

Was Bush Suckered into Iraq by Iran? thru Achmed Chalabi, the WMD threat "insider expert" who was an Agent for Iranians,

by Rob Kall

No-one could fire Hoover, the head of the FBI until he died, because he had dirt on everyone. Bush can't fire anyone because everyone has dirt on him

6. she said "they then read the newspapers in bed"
when she was on the Leno show?

Uh ..... chalk up another lie for the administration.

The president doesn't read papers. Did she forget that?

Dumb bitch.

But nobody catches it, everybody just lets her get away with it, even this article says "she did an excellent job"

Of what?

9. Congressional Republican
Are beginning to distance themselves from Bush now, and not republicans like McCain. When Dick Lugar starts criticising the Republican President, its change of party leadership time.

12. Saw Chuck Hagel (R) on Late Edition w/ Wolf Blitzer this morning...
...he and Sen. DiFi (my Senator) were talking about the whole Chalabi mess and the situation in Iraq in general...

Hagel made some really interesting comments about the fact that Bush hasn't consulted him or other Republicans in Congress for any outside opinions of any kind, including even more senior Republican Senators & Reps than him. He was also critical that Bush doesn't talk to Democrats citing how important it is to have all views and input to make decisions.

I hope we start seeing more Chuck Hagel's....

15. There was a very large site in existance
Edited on Mon May-24-04 11:29 AM by Nicholas_J
about four months ago, called conservatives against Bush and it had grown a membership of 35,000 in a bit under a month. All of a sudden, this site disappeared, with no warning.

For a while, when you tried to access the site, you were redirected to a Department of Justice page this is s snip discussing the web site and the DOJ link:

Conservatives Against Bush Removed?
Bush

Just a month ago, a website entitled "Conservatives Against Bush" was making the case that true conservatives should not support Bush. Now the site has been removed and the former web address redirects you to the Department of Justice...
