I support this lady for Governor of California
http://www.georgyforgov.com/

Georgy Russell

She BLOGs, reads Slashdot, knows issues, and is the Geeks choice!

Her positions are well reasoned and she would have my vote if I lived in California. To hell with all the glitz and glamour candidates. Vote Georgy for Governor!

Edited on Mon Aug-11-03 02:17 PM by Walt Starr
And she has good posture to boot!

Not to mention the fact that her pictures don't look like a mug shot from the L.A. Police Department!

On edit to post a pic of the infinitely cuter than Yeli, Georgy.

if you're serious, that is. We CA Democrats have a ways to go now in promoting Bustamante as the Democratic choice.

7. On a serious note (sorry)...
This whole mess is just a big fucking circus where any clown can be the next governor. And this is exactly what Herr Rove wants. Our democracy has officially become a joke, and the WH has made it happen. We are the laughing stock of the world. Maybe we deserve it, because we sure as hell don't treat our democratic processes with any hint of respect any more.

9. But...but...Georgy has the best slogan!!!
Brains
Beauty
Leadership

Besides, she's been posted on slashdot. That could end up giving her the numbers to win since slashdotters would probably wade through the 193 names on the list to find "Georgy Russell" while Ahnuld supporters would probably just check any old name after reading ten or twenty.

12. She now has a shot at actually winning
She's being slashdotted right now.

Knowing the average slashdotter, she could end up winning, especially since many of them want to test out the theoretical aspects of just how vulnerable the touch screen voting machines are.

It would be interesting, to say the least, if Georgy Russell were to win in a landslide, getting mroe votes than there are registered California voters.

13. Well that's not saying much.
Anyone can become governor with 25% of the vote or even less, yet Davis has to have 51% to win. Who was smoking what when that law was enacted?

16. I still predict the winner will take it with less than 10% of the vote
And I agree, whatever they were smoking, it certainly wasn't some harmless herb. It had to be a synthetic freebase agent.

I'm figuring most voters are not going to wade through a random list of 193 names to find the one person they wanted to vote for, unless they are Slashdotters who really really want the "cute geek chick" to win.

BTW, Georgy uses Linux and slashdotters love Linux.

21. slashdot.org
It is the most hit web site by computer geeks in the world.

The slashdot (or /.) effect is a server is generally overloaded when a link to it is posted on that site.

So far, her server has been taking a beating and has kept on ticking. My guess is her ability to withstand the /. effect will only cause the slashdotters to have a great respect for her.

23. And Ahnuld doesn't need it
After all, cable news has been non-stop Ahnuld and Kobe for nearly a week now. Ahnuld doesn't have to pay a penny to get campaign attention.

If this woman receives even 1% of the vote, however, it will demonstrate there is power in the internet.

30. What do you think of her policies?
Though I would like to see Bustamante beat Schwarzenneger, Georgy's policies would be great for California. Legalizing marijuana, allow gay marriages, a Vermont style health care system, ending capital punishment. Makes sense to me. She also takes a page from Clinton's economic plan of fiscal discipline and being down the deficits that are destroying California and other states.

As does all of the Democratic presidential candidates. Outsourcing is a cancer in the American labor sector and free enterprise in general.

24. SHE HAS A DEFINITE ADVANTAGE NOW!!!!
"R" is at the top of the ballot, so Georgy Russell will be somewhere close to the top!

That could put her in a good way to get some votes.

Curiouser and curiouser. I'm kinda hoping Thong Girl takes it all.

I agree with this young lady on most issues.

I'd rather look at her than Arnold.

If Georgy is the replacement candidate who appears to be in the best position to deny a Republican a first place finish on October 7, I'll vote for her.
