Dean's HARDtalk BBC interview link. Talks of Blair, Bush, and credibility
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/programmes/hardtalk/3706989.stm
SNIP..."In a HARDtalk interview on 12th May, Tim Sebastian speaks to Governor Howard Dean, who has dropped out of the presidential race, about whether the Democrats have a chance of winning the elections and how events in Iraq are impacting on the campaign."

It is a tough interview, but it shows Dean's determination to defend Kerry. Tim Sebastian is a rough interviewer, and some of it was painful to view. However, Dean got in points about the privatization of the military and its lack of responsibility. He also emphasized how Bush had undermined our credibility.

It was an excellent interview, but tough.

More:
SNIP..."Even the President has now admitted there was no evidence of that. Saddam Hussein had nothing to do with 9/11. The President has admitted there was no evidence for that - the question is why in the world are we there? Why did we lose 700 people? Why are the British there?"

Governor Dean said he was "very disappointed" with British Prime Minister Tony Blair.

"He (Tony Blair) was quite an icon of the centre left. He was one of the leading lights of the centre left in Europe and I think that's all gone now. I would have preferred he had stood up to the President rather than go along with it but that was not meant to be."
END SNIP

1. There is also an interview on BBC4 on May 26th.
There was a preview on Newsnight the other day. Is it possible to stream BBC4? I know the interview was on video, but it appears BBC4 is audio? I am confused.

2. I suspect the BBC4 interview is the same one
There's a quote in the Hardtalk interview that sounds like one that someone on DU pulled out from the Newsnight interview. They may have described the interview as 'for BBC4 on May 26th' because that will be the way for the British audience to see it.

BBC4 is TV, not audio; I'm not sure why they have some links to audio interviews on the BBC4 website - maybe just because they fit the BBC4 'profile' - arts, politics.

3. The 2nd interview was by another person. I saw parts of it.
The 2nd one was not by Sebastian. They both interviewed him live from VT. Thanks for the explanation. The 5 minutes of the interview I saw was just great. I can NOT remember the name of the person. Not as tough as Sebastian, though.

4. They don't stream BBC4 as a general rule
I think they have arrangements with some UK broadband operators (I guess that doesn't use much BBC bandwidth if they only send it to known servers for the ISPs).
