"If this pans out, that's two WMD's in the last ten days.."
Just said by a CNN newsperson. For some reason, I was under the impression that if someone was exposed to Sarin gas, they didn't walk away with just a bit of discomfort. They died almost immediately. Am I wrong on this?

But the CNN guy said there was a round found about ten days ago with mustard gas in it. And today, the possibility of Sarin gas. See! We were in danger of being attacked by WMDs. He had more than one round. Now they have found two rounds! He was a danger to the civilized world. Do you need any more proof?

4. How old is this sarin
If it hasn't been touched since the early-mid '90s, then it's not the threat we would think. However, if it quallifies as "imminent" then it is the "planted" WMD.

10. This is bullshit -- an outright lie
The Bush administration has absolutely NO credibility on this issue. If they want anyone but idiots to believe it (such as people outside the US), they are going to need to get a third party like UNSCOM to verify it. I can almost guarantee at this point that they won't be able to do that.

Don't think they care about anyone outside the US
They really only want to influence enough people to get close enough to steal it again. Or just keep enough people sedated until they can get another $50 billion for chickenhawkcheney's buds (with some change thrown at the troops, too... don't they call those 'loss leaders' in retail?)

11. American Made
Let's not forget that any WMD's found in Iraq were gifts from America to help Hussain with the Iran-Iraq war....

12. Are they scouring old Iran-Iraq battlefields with metal detectors?
Looking for old dud rounds?

Exactly what conditions were these individual rounds found under?

16. Here's what I am getting:Old rounds stolen from unguarded ammo dumps
Like many of the IED's this was a round that was taken form unguarded ammo dumps of which there are many around Iraq. Are they still unguarded? Gee that would be an interesting news report huh? Maybe things are so bad no one wants to venture into the countryside to find out...plus it being bad news and all.

Anyway someone had an artillery shell that they rigged up to blow and it turns out that it once might have had scarin' gas in it. David Kay apparently has already said that it probably is from the Iran-Iraq war and is useless in it current (now permenant) state.

That is what I am picking up from the threads on this.

17. They said they were preliminary tests
And we know what happened after all the rest of the preliminary testing that was done on "suspected" shells.

The field test comes back positive and then three weeks later it's found out to be nothing. They will make this the story for the next few days and then in a couple of weeks they'll add a footnote to some broadcast which says that the final tests came back negative.
